Usual suspects still gobbling his balls I see
Christian Bale Oooo GIF

I also just watched his interview, is this twat fucking serious..
25 years of taking the piss, and then he spouts off about winning the Premier league..you havd to properly compete to win it, something we never do..you have to have players as good as teams that are winning it, to stand any chance..
We clearly do not shop at the top table and never will with the parasite in charge..so why has he suddenly decided to talk about it, like we're stupid and actually have any reason to believe him.....
Scumbag, liar and not a football fan, not of this club anyway.......that interview actually made me angry and made me feel physically sick, that he thinks we are all that stupid to suddenly believe him....fuck off levy
In all seriousness, I hope you're exaggerating. If a football chairman is making you feel physically sick thats goonerTV Claude levels, and you need to reevaluate priorities.

They're all taking the piss, bunch of blokes making the GDP of a small nation for kicking a ball around. We're really not meant to be taking it that seriously.

There's way too much of this over-emotional crap thrown around on here.

Take a look at what's happening in the middle-east, or Ukraine....but it's a football club chairman saying that he wants to win a trophy that makes people want to bring up their lunch!

There are starving children in the world and you waste your time posting on TFC you f’in waster .. By all means go out a make a difference and stop wasting your time on football which doesn’t matter …

People are throwing up cause they think Levy is lying … 20+ years of action speak louder than words - but what what do you care ? Go focus on the ME or Ukraine …

I get that. But it’s still true that people wanted him to communicate and are now complaining when he does.
Yes. Regularly. Not popping out of his coffin on the rare occasion a virgin pops into Transylvania because it's a blue moon. Explain the decision making to us because sometimes it's as baffling as fuck.

That said, they stated things clearly here. It's ok. We know Levy. He's only ever going to push us so far. Maybe this roll of the dice will be the one ...

Luckily, we've got a nice big shiny trophy to appease some of us while we regenerate into plucky young Lord Brentford of Tottenham.

He actually thinks we have a squad that can compete for the title. he's been sold a turnip by the data analysts that these young kids he's gambled on will all turn out to be superstars and we just need the right manager to come and knit it all together.

It's moneyball pap.

We don't compete because he doesn't buy top players or pay top wages. And when we do shell out big bucks we buy utter dross like Ndombele.

This squad is at best 8th best in the league, with our injury record and with a packed Champions league schedule we will be hard pressed to make the top 10.

That's the reality.
Sad but true.
We have shelled out big money in the past, but not particularly wisely. I think Ndombele burnt Levy's fingers pretty badly and it's natural not to want to repeat that experience. Richy is another that looks like we won't get our money's worth, although I was glad at the time to land him. Brennan was another that looked as if we overpaid, but he paid us back tenfold by scoring the winner in the final (I'm saying he got the final touch!). Dom still needs to prove whether he's worth the fee, and I'm hoping that Thomas will sort things out so he gets the service to bring out the best in him.
The trouble is every transfer is a gamble and Levy is not a risk taker. Unfortunately he has played hard ball at the wrong time (I still think Grealish would have worked out well for us).
There is one thing we do have to keep in mind though, we are not playing on an even pitch - we are run within the rules of the game, where others are not. Teams like Everton and Forest have been duly punished, but others (Chavs and Man C) look like they're going to get away with it. Newcastle have been biding their time but they have enough money behind them to find loopholes.
Having said ALL that, we should still be pushing for top six and land a trophy of some sort every five years or so, given the facilities of the Club and what we are charged for tickets.

They're ACTUALLY throwing up are they?? Get some perspective.... it's over-emotional ranting.

Since Levy took control our average league position has increased by 6 places. We've made it to 7 finals, 15 semi finals, challenged for the title, built a world class stadium, built world class training facilities, navigated through Covid. We are a far far better team now than when ENIC took control, in fact we now expect success instead of hoping for it.

Of course he could do more, he's not a gambler, and is risk averse, but he's built a self-sustaining business model to ensure that we're not financially dependent on a sugar daddy.

Then he comes out and says that the next step is to win titles and fans are made to feel physically sick? Come on.....

Look at the state Man Utd are in, look at Leeds....they were the 13th richest club in the world when ENIC took over....we were 17th.

This thread has always been an emotional, hysterical mess, a set of man child's crying when Daniel Levy breathes, hilarious and worrying to read at the same time. :mourweird:

Perfectly put Mrs P. We are limited by certain boundaries, and for us to be built into what is deemed to be a consistent top 6 team is a great achievement. Especially while all the teams around us either had financial stability already (Man Utd, Liverpool) or got a huge influx of wealth, which is near impossible to compete with.

That video also shows they’d planned to sack Ange way before the EL final. I know the new chap went out of his way to emphasise ‘quickly’, but you don’t assess 30 candidates across 10 criteria, identify a shortlist, do inteviews and negotiate with agents and clubs in 2 weeks.

Of course they did and expectedly so, when were languishing near the bottom half way through the season they would have been looking at alternatives then.

Good. That is what a leadership team with half a brain cell would do.

A sign that Levy and Co. are learning and doing what's right for the club, imv

Actions not words.

Again i think this just highlights how little he knows about actual football even after 25 years. I think he's still stuck in 2005 where a few youngsters and a couple of decent but unspectacular prem buys like Maddison and Solanke can have you challenging for a title. Its just delusional.

Vinnai comes across better and i'd love to think he can push him in the right direction but he's just too stuck in his ways. I fully expect going forward the PR will be better but not much else.

If your first actions in regards to building a championship challenging team are giving Ben Davies another year and signing a 19 yr old after a mediocre loan spell i think it says it all.

Levy came over better in that interview than any previous one and was obviously coached todo so. Clearly not going anywhere soon as what was the point. He says the football success is all that matters and he is seen at the matches very regularly. The only thing I do not get is I can never remember the cameras picking up any emotion from him when we score or win important matches. I cannot contain myself at times sitting at home in front of the TV like when that final whistle blew in Bilbao. Surely a camera was on Levy, what emotion did he show.

Clearly nothing interesting enough that was worthy of broadcasting
