Been wanting to put those numbers together for awhile, that is a very strong and very important correction to the constantly overstated "ENIC has dramatically lifted the club from where it was in the 90's". So much of that is just the strength of the correlation between revenue and points getting much stronger.
We massively surged from 2005-2017 and immediately collapsed back to a distance from the best in England as big if not bigger than the Sugar years.
That would be visualized even more strongly as a graph if anyone is handy like that.

Showing the gap relative to the top of the league really dials out a ton of noise in these numbers, it's such a stark story displayed this way. The decades-long quest to get into touching distance financially has wildly succeeded yet nonetheless backslid on the pitch into Sugar territory (with twice the money!)
HeyCJJ I've got something new to spam the board with, and this one I made myself!

We've got to get these cunts out of Spurs.
Do we have a consensus people?
What the fuck do we need to do?
It's fucking embarrassing how long it is dragging on with these people. My mates Dad knew Levy and laughed at us when we were all pleased he took it on. He said clearly they haven’t got a pot to piss in and stood by it and he still brings it up now - as we’ve all aligned to his original summary and admitted he was right. They’ve done well commercially to be fair albeit all funded by the club/fans but f me operationally they are a shit show
I mean you're really torturing the statistics if Ange gets yada yadaed away but Christian Gross doesn't.Aside from 2 abberant seasons - 2019-2020 (largely a product of Liverpool winning the title with 99 points - 18 points clear of City in 2nd) and 2024-25 where the mistake of hiring a manager completely out of his depth was show up; even our recent dip in form from Peak-Poch is a level above where we were in the 90s.
The 80's didn't have as close a scrape with the title as Poch had, but were arguably better overall, and for a more sustained period with more trophy success. But its ridiculous to assert that ENIC/Levy have not successfully guided Spurs to a higher level than any time since Scholar arrived.

I'd be interested to see it (not math smart enough to do it myself), but that's really measuring something entirely different which will flatter us in the era when financial dominance over the teams behind counts for much more. For the record, Standard Deviation from the league mean would be a much, much more appropriate analysis. I'll leave that to you because I have a latte to go pick up.
I despise Levy but can admit they haven’t been a disaster…. They are par / average off the field and have spent the fans money well on infra but football wise it’s been below par considering the former. Compared to Ashley et al they are ok - but after 25 years par / average isn’t good enoughIt's fucking embarrassing how long it is dragging on with these people.
25 fucking years.
To be honest it makes the supporters look like mugs.
What other top half Prem club puts up with ENIC and Levy for 25 years and buys the same bullshit year after year?
Has Levy's salary and bonus, for the last decade, been money well spent?and have spent the fans money well on infra but football wise it’s been below par considering the former.
Wouldn’t classify that as infrastructure - and you could argue the increase in revenue has justified his salary… you could also argue that should be offset by the football operations disaster he’s also overseen. This is my point - he’s not been hounded out because he’s done some good and some shit…. But after 25 years nothings gonna improve, get fucked Levy tbhHas Levy's salary and bonus, for the last decade, been money well spent?
I'd say stop giving them money, but with all the stadium revenue and hotels etc I don't think they really care anymore. We've got to get these cunts out of Spurs.
Do we have a consensus people?
What the fuck do we need to do?
Yes, the best comparison would be standard deviations from the mean in Points/£(transfers and wages). Data from the past would be impossible to obtain most likely.I'd be interested to see it (not math smart enough to do it myself), but that's really measuring something entirely different which will flatter us in the area when financial dominance over the teams behind counts for much more.
The point is, the emergent PSR era is the tightest correlation between revenue generation and points there has ever been, our revenue is nearer the absolute top than it has been in decades, and yet we're fading away competitively.
We can't.We've got to get these cunts out of Spurs.
Do we have a consensus people?
What the fuck do we need to do?
As somebody on another Spurs forum wrote this morningHow many owners in the PL would you not swap for ENIC?
West Ham is probably the only one.
It really does depend on which unreliable source you want to believe , in the last accounts presented to HMRC (believable) Levy earns £3.7 million a year but if you want to believe this website he is not the highest paid director/ceo in the PL , that honour goes to Man U who we stuffed four times last season.I think with bonuses it comes very close to 6m?
But I think we will agree, he is on a very good screw at THFC, making him the highest paid director in the league?
Fulham, highest ST prices in th PL.How many owners in the PL would you not swap for ENIC?
West Ham is probably the only one.
Everton, worst stadium sponsorship name ever !!!!How many owners in the PL would you not swap for ENIC?
West Ham is probably the only one.
It's not comparable to the 90's at all. Our most succesful 6 year period in the '90s, is probably 90/91 to 95/96. We won a trophy (FA cup), and made the league cup semi final 3 times. In a 25 year period then no, its not the 90s. In the last 6 years i'd say its very similar to the 90s and i was one of the poor buggers that sat through most of that. Last 6 seasons 17th, 5th, 8th, 4th, 7th, 6th. Cup defeats to Sheff Utd, Middlesbrough, Colchester, Norwich, Zagreb.
