ENIC In or ENIC Out

One thing that’s been on my mind since they pushed him out is timing. I’m delighted he went but it left the club in a mess because of how much he was actually doing.

Why did they let him have the whole summer to buy players and pick a manager and then get rid of him at the end of it?

Going into a new season without Levy (or any experienced CEO who’d run clubs in football) was always a huge risk, but they did it anyway. Why?

We should have realised then that the new bods running ENIC didn’t have a clue about football because it’s a massive risk. If they really wanted to move him out the should have done it in May giving them the chance to pick the manager and players. That was the warning sign. The timing was the clue.

Losing / removing the Chairman, manager and captain at the same time wasn’t exactly great for us. Particularly whilst our Director of football was still ankle tagged also.

We're fragile because these cunts couldn't give a flying fuck about football and the players know it. Levy kept things going at a bare minimum by chucking money at shit under the illusion of sustainability. Yes he'd have sacked Frank back at Christmas but there is no guarantee that who he'd have recruited would have made any difference. Too many of our players are now mentally spent or have turned out to be fucking prima donna pussies without a backbone.

They're all a bunch of wealthy cunts in an ivory cunt tower. Until they go, nothing is fixed. Sell the fuck up and fuck off you worthless cunts.

Great post. Although I'm not convinced he'd have sacked Frank any sooner.
Our league form under Ange was just as horrific and he allowed him the season.
.europe or not.

I’d still have given him that final though. Maybe we’d have been pumped, who knows.
I’d suggest he went when he did because of the Super League announcement. Theory a) rumour was he refused to take training in protest and that was the final nail. b) Levy had so much skin in the Jose game that it was the perfect time to despatch him without significant media noise.

I doubt it’s anything at all to do with the cup final. There was no significant money at stake by winning it and a trophy is an emotional thing for fans, but meaningless to the board room. If they gave any shit about it they don’t put a 29 year old rookie manager in the dug out.

It's amazing really how occam's razor doesn't exist when it suits an agenda

I know they aren’t the same thing. Cheers for checking though.

The prize money the club gets is £100k. How much of that do you think was due to Jose if he’d stayed on and won the cup?

Do you think it would have been enough to justify sacking him?

Or maybe we didn’t sack him because Levy didn’t want to pay his Carabao bonus of around £700, but because we weren’t playing well and winning enough games?
Jose would have had a big old bonus for any cup regardless as to the winnings. Way more than the actual winnings.
I've literally read player contracts in the past and seen what they get. Zero doubt a manager gets a lot more.

But do I think that was the reason Levy sacked him?
Not on its own, no. I'd bet there were half a dozen reasons, including that.
I wouldn't, for instance, be surprised if there was a trigger to extend his contract if he won a cup. At that time, the results were dwindling and there was unrest among the fans. Was it a good idea to be sucked into a bonus AND a years extra salary when it looked like it was not going to last?
It was also bang in the middle of covid with the furlough embarrassment AND us being one of the potential Super League teams. IIRC, Mourinho even spoke out against the latter..

So
Bonus
Contract ramifications
Covid
Super league
Dwindling results
Unrest among the fans

Any/all of the above.

I agree with your last few reasons. But there’s no way that the famously tight Levy would agree to any significant bonus being paid, or a contract extension triggered for winning a shitey wee League Cup. Just not realistic.

Or maybe it did happen and everything else we know and learned about Levy over the rest of his 25 years wasn’t true.

He (Levy) was desperate for a trophy to get the fans off his back, hence why he stood by AngeLoss for so long.

One of many rumours doing the rounds is enic have realised their knowledge of how to run a football club themselves ...... is just not there so they either need to sell. But they won't get a good price for 100% now given where we are,

However Quataris (via QSI who own PSG) are prepared to buy a minority stake (which might suit fans if structured as the issue of new shares in Spurs for cash, say 29% giving maybe £250m/£300m into club which helps with transfer funds and paying down transfer debt) and QSI do not want to buy Levy's minority shares out.

Good news or bad news is Chairman of QSI (and PSG) Nasser Al-Khelaïfi also gets on well with a certain Mr Levy, so he'd come back in some capacity as the experienced football executive to help turn Spurs around again.

So with Levy holding a big stake (even through a trust) and QSI new shareholding, enic would lose overall control of the Board to QSI/Levy..... with the club being refinanced at the same time.

Mixed blessings .... or club back in safer and known hands this time with more cash to play with ? Certainly a surprise to many fans !

Levy is why we are where we are. How the fuck does the arsonist put out the fire. If the club wants a future it needs to miles away from ENIC and Levy.

What a fucking club we are!
