One thing that’s been on my mind since they pushed him out is timing. I’m delighted he went but it left the club in a mess because of how much he was actually doing.
Why did they let him have the whole summer to buy players and pick a manager and then get rid of him at the end of it?
Going into a new season without Levy (or any experienced CEO who’d run clubs in football) was always a huge risk, but they did it anyway. Why?
We should have realised then that the new bods running ENIC didn’t have a clue about football because it’s a massive risk. If they really wanted to move him out the should have done it in May giving them the chance to pick the manager and players. That was the warning sign. The timing was the clue.
