Have they or have they not repeatedly signed the most expensive players at the whim of whatever manager they have?

Angel Di Maria
Harry Maguire
Paul Pogba
Fernandes
Wan Bissaka
Jason Sancho
Fred
Martial

That's just off the top of my head and all over £50m in fees.

You and they are acting as if the Glazers are sacking every dollar our of Man United and not putting any back in. They're putting a fucking shit ton of money in but they're doing it all on the pitch and none on infrastructure.

Levy has lumped us with hundreds of million of debt on our stadium. It's being paid back interest only at about £7m a year.
So he's not paying off the cost of it.
He's taking 40k of the highest priced season tickets in the world
He's taking uber PL TV money
He's taking record deals from Nike and AiA

And what's HE putting back in?????

He's 1,000 times worse for us than the Glazers are for them. We absolutely should be more angry than they are.
Listen, if Levy died in a car crash overnight I would be smashing the champagne and cocaine tomorrow AM, I hate him.

I actually think we are in agreement - I prefer the Glazer approach to Levy’s but you have to recognise that if they had funded the purchase of the club themselves (rather than borrow), they would have had an extra billion for players

Agreed. Yes the Glazers have taken a lot of money out of the club, but they've also backed their managers with huge transfers.

It's a very unfortunate fact for many people that the Glazer's leveraged buy-out just flat out worked. They haven't been impoverished despite what Man U fans pretend, the club generates enough money that it really hasn't been a problem or imposed any tough decisions on them money wise. The problem is that they just had a string of bad managers who made bad and expensive decisions on player transfers.

So what are they, Manchester United Football Club fans, or Manchester United Finance Department fans?

Fuck my life. I'd rather have a billion quid worth of debt on world class talent to watch than a flashy stadium making one greedy bald cunt rich whilst I watch Davis to Dier to Winks to the back of our fucking net.
Well, United fans only show up at halftime. So they don't really get their money's worth out of seeing players on the pitch, do they?

That philosophical outlook on money is precisely why the Glazers have billions to begin with whilst you're shirking work sat on a mental footy forum bashing a keyboard.

Glazers will argue the 40m interest is offset by the extra revenue they take as top line due to their commercial improvements and changes

HAhaha

And u can see why Utd fans want them out. Is it a good biz move by them personally? Does it handicap the football club? Yes
Does being owned by a bloke that bakrupts himself buying perishable assets with an extremely short shelf life and a huge margin for failure, like footballers, benefit the club?

There's a mental disconnect between supporters, who are obsessed with football, and the people whose lives and careers are tied up in the sport. Its insane to throw stupid amounts of money that cannot be recovered at transfer fees, and the only people who do it, Mansour, Abramovich, the Qataris, are people who've never had to earn their money in the first place.

The problem with football isn't the Glazers, ENIC, and FSG. Its that less than half a dozen clubs have been bought by outside interests operating in a world devoid of financial constraints that have cause inflation at the top of the game to run out of control.

There's nothing wrong with the way the Glazers run United - nothing. They spend more money than anyone outside City, which operate on a fake budget. The Glazers appointed the wrong guy at the top and hired some shit managers who blew a load of cash on absolute shit. But they've managed the club the right way, and the only real beef any United fans have with them is they're American. All the doom and gloom shit they conjured up at the takeover has been proven 16 years later to have been demonstrably false.

In the 16 years the Glazers have owned United they've won 12 major trophies and signed the 3 most expensive footballers in English history (and 4 of the top 10, 4 of the top 25 in the world), and undertaken significant investment in training facilities. United fans are really just moaning over the fact that financial doping has broken the monopoly on English football that the PL created for them.

Because the Glaziers have taken over 800m out of Man Utd to pay off their purchase loans whereas ENIC have taken pretty much ZERO out of Spurs ....

Can you comprehend that difference now?
Enic are wonderful arnt they l...ffs
1 trophy in 20 years.. fucking 1 trophy
The Same fucking excuses year in year out. And charging the highest ticket prices in the country.
Yeah there fucking wonderful

They've got finance in our name to build a stadium to make money for them that's not going to do us any favours. All the care about is people being in it and buying shit while they're there.

It's not the debt that bothers them.
It's the owners taking more money out of the club than they spend on players.

The fans view is that if the Glaziers hadn't taken a billion pounds out, that could of been spent on players and they would be challenging, or indeed winning, the league every year.
As I've said before, once you let Americans get a foot in the door, it's all over. With his NFL franchise, can't anyone see where this is heading ? We will have American owners in 5 years. At which point I will stop supporting the club for the 1st time in 60 years.

Good post.

All I would say is if Levy was borrowing a billion, he would be paying a lot less interest ;-)

are you ok with the dividends?
