To say it could be worse if we replaced Levy is as true as saying it could be worse if we replaced Eric Dier. It's technically true but we have seen enough of these cunts at work to be comfortable with the risk of their replacement.

Saturdays, on a non-match day on TFC…

I'm not the one paying £1300 a season just to get pissed off every Saturday.

Imagine going to a restaurant which gives you bad service and undercooked food, complaining about it and then going again and again and again and again... 🤡

What was actually going through your head when you clicked the renew button?
Maybe he likes to talk from a position of strength watching every game . You know unlike someone going to a restaurant after Covid having lost their sense of taste and smell , their review is irrelevant compared to somebody who actually experienced the food .

You, with no skin in the game apart from being a forum dweller, start dishing out advice to season ticket holders that is akin to switching service providers. To people like me, and my friends and family that have supported Spurs for decades, it is meaningless.

BOOM! BOOM!

I appreciate you engaging me in a proper conversation about it and thanks for not just referring me to your old posts. Perspectives change day on day.

I think Levy has made exceptional decisions on the business front and he has no comparison there. Yet, on that level, we could mention Stratford and the ESL and I am relieved both things did not happen.

On the football front, and my main concern, Levy has shown ineptitude and a lack of competence/direction/prioritisation since at least 2004. All of Levy's fallback options have been more luck than judgement and his most successful (1st choice Santini->Jol, 1st choice Ramos->Redknapp, 1st choice Van Gaal->Poch)

No Spurs chairman/executive board, if we divide 20-year periods, has had such low success in terms of trophies aside from the period intersecting WW2.

Also, and this for me is the most damming thing, there is a "Spurs Show" podcast when Ramos was manager in which podcaster and coach Robert Easom wants Levy sacked and offers his justification why. At the time I disagreed with him but every single thing he said about Levy at that time was true then, and it is still true now. This was 15 years ago. Levy's priorities are wrong and his ruthless reputation to sack coaches that cannot perform miracles with average (or worse) players has completely caught up with him. We are a manager graveyard no doubt about it and we have regressed to a pre-2004 era. He quite simply does not know what he is doing, margins are all he understands, and he is not going to fucking change.
Until Stellini and Mason, I’d no issue at all with any of his managerial appointments. I could see sense in them all, but they have either not been given the resources and most importantly the time to achieve what we wanted them to do. His trigger finger on managers is and will remain my biggest gripe.

Aye, ESL and Stratford could be construed as miss-steps but could also be construed as being in the tent pissing out and putting pressure on the council respectively. Depends on your view of the man I suppose, as nobody knows which is correct.

As for him never changing, well, my hope is that he learns from his mistakes. This summer I’d like to see a progressive attacking manager who doesn’t need a team of Messi and Mbappe to compete. I’d like to see a structure that moves on some of our unwanted players. And I’d like to see at least a couple of significant first team signings that improve the side.

If he delivers that, good on him for doing his job. If he doesn’t, I’ll be hoping for a change.

Just because you say it doesn't make it true. I do enjoy the hubris of a random on a message board banging away about how much more shrewd he is at business than a couple of billionaires.

Might wanna tap the brakes there, friend.
Tbf don't think he was saying that, just stating that nobody knows what Lewis thinks?
It's true, do we really know how active his involvement is? Does he get regular 'progress' reports or just an update every year from Daniel?
Does he have an 'end game'

While not the optimum time to sell I would say the club may be actively looking to bring more investment onboard.

Could this be a minor stakeholder?

Are Enic able to spend big money this summer without European football to back a new manager & rebuild the squad?

Imho they may struggle to raise it themselves.

I don't think they have large ready cash.

They went pretty big last summer.

I wouldn't say a sale was totally out of the question although raising capital some other way more likely imho.

Man, bayern just axed their power duo because they made a mess of threatening that stability of winning the bundesliga. And even though kahn and salihamidzic were wrong in getting rid of JN so abruptly, they replaced him with tuchel and not someone out of his depth.

Meanwhile ENIC are rolling one's out here

But he is really , really , really shit at it

in my opinion and quite a few others on here at least
I don't think Daniel holds that opinion😁 .

Opinions are like arseholes anyway.

Saying he is shit is very much the disgruntled fan viewpoint.

Business people largely will say he's done a good job.

From the standpoint of improving & moving the club forward with a fantastic new stadium & training ground hes done an unbelievable job.
The question then is do you think he has done well from a sporting perspective?

Honestly I think it's been a mixed bag,the lack of silverware is disappointing but it has been good at times,
highs & lows as can be expected.

If you compare to natural size competitors from when Enic took over the club like Villa & Everton those clubs have done far worse.

We have managed to compete at a far higher level.

Have we won enough silverware?

No.

Have we maintained a respectable position in the league & enjoyed regular European adventures.

Yes.

Are we in a slump right now?

It sure looks like it.

You're a bit of a cock.

You're a bit of a cock.
A pretty grand one, really.

:harrylol:

He's not terribly wrong, TBH. ENIC'S tenure has resulted in the build of billions in world class facilities and the bests sustained period of league finishes in the club's history.

It's also been a massive trophy drought, which is the legitimate stick they get beat with.

But if we'd won the 2 LC finals we lost under them in the past decade, would it make a meaningful difference in people's minds? I think it shouldn't, because the LC is a bullshit comp that shouldn't exist. But with those 2 trophies in hand there's no drought and you'd struggle to find meaningful critiques.

Ifs and buts and all that, but people do act as if Levy has been an utter catastrophe when a couple bounces here and there and he'd legitimately be viewed as the top chairman in club history. Neither are true.

Just what has the training ground delivered

A better team , certainly not
Better youth teams, again certainly not

What is the point if neither of the above are achieved, all fur coat and no knickers

From a business standpoint, looking at Tottenham as an asset then yeah, he's done well. He has increased revenues at the club, increased its value and will earn ENIC a substantial profit when they sell on.

But none of us sit here with hard ons for his ability to make money for the shareholders.

He is absolutely atrocious at making footballing decisions. Everything he touches turns to shit. His recruitment model is amongst the worst in the Premier League. The amount of money that he has pissed away over the last 5 years is unforgivable. Over £250m has been spent on total flops in that time period, along with getting rid of players we really should not have gotten rid of. He brought in a dodgy DOF who promoted the worst brand of football imaginable and sanctioned 3 horrendous managerial appointments.

Has he/ENIC future proofed the club by constructing great facilities? Yep. I thank him for that. But he has also overseen the destruction of the club's culture, identity and feel. He has been at the helm for an incredibly long time with zero on-field success to show for it and if he had any respect for the club's history and fanbase he'd accept that he has done everything he can and move on. Take the profit and leave.
