I simply cannot afford to go to a game. Parking, Flights, Trains, Hotel, Ticket, Food, a few beers. I'd be in it for well over 500 pounds. I get paid very well by spanish standards but not enough to spend that sort of money on one game

I think that's why a lot of angst against the board is magnified these days, it's usually form our new age fans who haven't grown up when Spurs were really in the shit. If these guys or if social media was around in the 90s they'd probably become alcoholics due to the kind of piss taking there was back then and the majority of it was actually deserved.

Funny cause back then trophies weren't valued amongst fans as much as they are now, an in particular terms of banter points and tribalism. It seems like the be all and end all to a successful season these days is winning something just to shut rival fans up, back then it was never like that.
Also in that period we might have won a couple of pots but we were never really going anywhere as a club, there wasn't much to buy into or look forward to.

Probably because we were used to winning cups prior to 1991. I'd say the reason our fans put so much value on cups these days is because of the length of time that has passed.
Sacking Jose just prior to the League Cup final and giving the job to a rookie was down to Levy, I'm not suggesting that Mourinho would surely have beaten Man City but would have been more capable than Mason and had/has a good track record of winning cup finals.

Probably the highlight of the 90's for any Spurs fan was beating Woolwich 3-1 at Wembley to reach the FA Cup Final, certainly our most iconic moment being Gazza's free kick. Winning the trophy itself was the icing on the cake.
The only joy we received in the mid to late 90's was beating Leicester in '99, a season where Ginola won POTY even though United won the Treble.
