...and (for balance) a handful of people who are obsessive ENIC-haters first and Spurs fans a distant second...
The difference is the ENOC haters hate them for a valid reason eg 1 wank LC across their tenure and continually missing opportunities to challenge due to their frugal, risk averse retail strategy

Fuck mr baldy Byrite beancounter and fuck yourself too

What a lovely chap you seem to be... :(

Unwarranted insults aside, that (first paragraph) is your opinion. Other people - those who disagree with you - hold a different opinion.

I'm able to recognise that you hold a different opinion to me, and that you are entitled to hold that opinion - are you not able to afford me the same degree of respect? If not, then that says a lot... :(

Anyway all of that aside (as what you've posted is irrelevant to the point I was making), it is clear that there are some - just a few - on here who would rather see ENIC fail than Spurs succeed.

All spurs supporters want Spurs to win.

Asserting anything else is just wrong.

ENIC and Levy should be forced to make a public statement regarding what is a reasonable amount of time, from their perspective, for Spurs loyal supporters to have to wait for a trophy under their ownership.

The 16 years, since the 2008 League Cup, is the longest period any Spurs supporters have had to wait since 1951.

This is surely the route for the Supporters Trust to take.

Ask Levy and ENIC this question publicly until an answer is given. We need a time frame for them to win for Spurs or sell the club to someone who will.

Where is Greta Thunberg to give us our sustainability and eco trophy. When is that victory parade taking place.

Top girl that Greta. Loves Kulu too.

Proper yid mind.

... yet Honest John Honest John who I was initially responding to said this:

"There really are people on here who are ENIC fans first and Spurs fans a distant second"

So you agree that JT is wrong to say that then?

(I was merely providing the logical counter-argument to that).

If you took over a football club, would you make a cast iron agreement that the club will win something and put a time frame to it, what would be in it for you? Also why would you sell up if you had a decent business that was making money?

I think people see ENIC as a body that could be voted out or would sell the club to anyone who will offer, just so that the club will be successful. You might really want that to happen and from a football perspective the club would be better if they did, but the bottom line is they have no incentive to sell.

I now take the view we'd be better off with new owners, someone breathing new life in to the club, I don't believe it will happen and nor do I think you'll ever get a timeframe for trophies out of ENIC, there is nothing in it for them to do so.

Also, say we win something next season, say a league cup, do you honestly think this will change the tide and everyone will suddenly be ENIC in?

But they’re never going to fuck off are they? Why would they?

This club is a licence to print money for them for the next century. I don’t see them giving that away. We’re stuck with them, all we can hope for is Levy retiring and somebody more focused on success on the pitch taking his place.
Sadly, you're probably right.

And even more sadly, the lifeblood of the club, the fans, are slowly but surely being beaten down into accepting that what was once a proud and historic football club is now nothing more than a corporate behemoth facilitating a multitude of money printing events and enterprises.

However, those of us that truly care will not stop calling it out for what it is in the forlorn hope that some day they will indeed sell up and fuck off

I find this post very depressing. But, unfortunately, it's also very true.

They bought the club for financial purposes back in the day, levy said this himself and the quotes are out there, so the levy apologists can't deny it.
Like you say, whilst there is money and lots of it to be made they won't leave, the football success if it happens is only, a welcome distraction nothing more.
We are saddled with Enic, we won't go down or be in a financial mess, but at the same time, the club won't hit the heights of other big clubs.

You are both right.

There are 'regime enthusiasts' who definitely appear to have an agenda to defend ENIC and Levy despite the increasing evidence that ENIC and Levy care more about money than they do about the football club winning trophies and the needs of the supporters.

There are also supporters who feel so strongly about the regime that they believe it is only an horrendous experience, such as relegation or financial meltdown that will change the direction of the club in respect of the ownership.

I believe a case can be made for both points of view and that, for now at least, the majority of supporters fall somewhere between these differing ideologies.

Spurs need to win something soon if Levy wants to remain as chairman.

I'm guessing he understands that.

Levy can remain chairman as long as he wants, this isn’t the Liverpool fanbase who if they went 5-10 years without a trophy would burn the club to the ground.

The expectation at Liverpool is certainly higher but the clock is ticking for Levy.

He's slippery though. I'll give him that.

The mess we were in under Conte looked unbridgeable to me.

He's done enough to hang on by his pubes up to this point so well done to him for that.

Paratici has proved very useful in saving his skin.

Next season has to be 'the one' in my opinion.

Levy is either getting a statue off the back of Ange or going down the shitter with him this time.
