Yeah, it was definitely the players being given an expensive watch that lost us that final, not Sissoko standing there with his fucking arm out as usual, pointing at fuck all. Or Pochettino’s tactics, like playing dope’s in cm, and Eriksen, who couldn’t run fast at ARM marking their marauding LB.

I guess Levy must have given that twat Lloris a watch before the League cup final and the FA Cup semi final where Poch played Son at LB too.
 
I consider the gesture to be absolutely tone deaf when dealing with professional, very wealthy sportsmen.
They aren’t in the final to make up the numbers. They would genuinely have believed they were going to win it (& tbh I was convinced we would because Lady Luck had been with us through the tournament only to take a massive shit on us in the first couple of minutes).
The engraving is what you might expect to see at a school sports day where everyone gets a medal just for taking part. I’m not surprised Hugo has never worn it.
The Amazon deal, for £10 million simply wasn’t worth the intrusion and again very short sighted. I enjoyed the series for sure, but didn’t once consider how it may affect the players. I assumed they’d be en consulted about it and were ok with it. To simply grab the money and have the cameras installed is pretty shocking.
Imagine walking into work one day and finding out that your boss had installed cameras everywhere to record you working for the entertainment of millions?

I think the League Cup final he gave them a BOGOF dessert at a Harvester

Did you read the article , he’s not saying the watches saying thanks for participating lost them the Cup more so finding the mentally for the engraving strange .

I do think he’s right about the penalty though , very bloody harsh

Four days before the final, Daniel Levy called us all together to announce that, with the support of a sponsor, we would each receive a luxury aviator watch from the club. At first, we were excited to see the elegant boxes. Then we opened them and discovered that he’d had the back of each timepiece engraved with the player’s name and ‘Champions League Finalist 2019’. ‘Finalist.’ Who does such a thing at a moment like this? I still haven’t got over it, and I’m not alone. If we’d won, he wouldn’t have asked for the watches back to have ‘Winner’ engraved instead.

I have considerable respect and esteem for the man and all he has done for the club as chairman – I got to know him – but there are things he is simply not sensitive to. As magnificent as the watch is, I have never worn it. I would have preferred there to be nothing on it. With an engraving like that, Levy couldn’t have been surprised if we had been 1–0 down after a couple of minutes: so it was written.

Would have been fine, if he’d said at the same time that there was a choice of Supercar for every squad member when we win.

He's not blaming the defeat on the gifts, He's just using it as a prime example of the losing mentality rife within the hierarchy of the football club.

i.e It wouldn't have happened at any other club serious about winning.

Even old Shady said he can't defend this one FFS 🥲

I was JOKING about Sissoko wearing his watch!

You're not allowed to wear jewellery during a match, so can't think how Sissoko snuck his on!!

Giving gifts or not giving gifts doesn't make us have a winning mentality or not ...

Had Levy given them all a baseball cap each, we'd have bemoaned how tight he was being!!!

Anyway, Lloris missed a trick, he shoulda called the chapter: 'WATCH THIS SPACE!'

Nobody demonstrated weak mentality more than that twat Lloris. He even chucked one in his own net in a World Cup final.
 
As you all know..

Football is an emotional sport.
The emotions of the players and fans are the most important energy.

The biggest problem for Tottenham is that Levy lacks emotion.

He just treat football like a business.
Listening to Lloris talk about the Champions League and seeing what he's done to Harry and Sonny...

Because of Levy, I can't get emotionally involved in football. I wish he would go do business instead of football. He doesn't seem to be interested in football anyway.
