ENIC In or ENIC Out

I know it's mean and kinda disrespectful to say so, but it's the internet so fuck it.

It is very emotionally important to some people, both posters here and Simon Jordan-types, that they can look at themselves as smarter and savvier than the ignorant rabble of English football supporters who endlessly demand signings of players they've never heard of and are instantly knee-jerk reactive of every last thing.

Daniel Levy is a prism through which that sort of person can position themselves as elevated above the rubes.

That's it, that's the whole thing. I feel like a couple of the above posts are fairly candid on that really.

This leads to a lot of misstating facts, but the real problem for me is more qualitative than quantitative.

You wind up saying, ever more explicitly, the game is NOT about glory and to dare is NOT to do.

And like, you've lost the argument when you get there.

I used to be something resembling a Levy defender, at least much more nuanced than I am now. And I still push back on criticisms of the stadium project which I almost always find to be ill-founded. "ENIC have put the club into an excellent position to succeed under leadership that isn't them" is the essence of what I believe. But I would feel like a total idiot to go any further than that, because to do so means to contradict the values that are literally carved into the stadium walls.

Tell us what you don't like about ENIC and Levy then.

I read your post about the swamp football has become which was the best post from you I've ever read.

Talk about the miser.

What is he getting wrong and why?

For me it is simple - they aren't using our financial power to push us forward on the pitch and have fucked up our managerial and a fair bit of player recruitment over the years.

who knows why - obviously he wants to make the club profitable and doesn't truly see winning the league as a priority - I personally believe we have had good enough squads to win at least 2-3 cups - especially the last 10 years or so but ultimately we haven't and that ultimately rests on their shoulders.

There is a lot of nuance I could go into about what happened at each stage under their ownership - there are times when things have worked, and there are plenty of times it hadn't - I also do nothin' had we won those 2 or 3 cups the last however many years people would feel any different about them - it would all be in spite of them rather than any nod to their stewardship right?

had we beaten Liverpool in the CL - no one would be sitting here comfortable with the ownership - I know this because Arnsla fans complain about their owners, United fans complain about their owners, and Liverpool fans complain about their owners.... when things are shit, people complain and the buck stops with the people at the top.

That all being said - football has been ruined by the obscene amount of money being invested and them not investing like Chelsea and City especially has held us back -

The logical thing for him to do is step aside to a new position such as CEO Food and Beverages and bring in a football man who can handle the job something like the Invisible Munn should be doing however imagine the interference the new man would get he is power mad he just can't help himself.
Before you dwindling band extract your tongues from his arse (does Butler post on here?) and press a few keys us thoroughly pissed off fans would like to know Levy's credentials for running this football club what made him think he had the knowledge to run THFC.
Put up some facts so we can be converted/Thanks

Would Spurs be better off with or without ENIC?

Apparently Simon Jordan said on Talksport today that his interview with Levy is filmed and coming out “soon”.

Fox Tv Popcorn GIF by The Four
Is this true?

Levy has done a 'poor me' documentary with Simon Jordan?

At least Levy knows he is in the shit this time then.

What a dinner party that would be.

Just needs David Brent to complete the line up.

Would Spurs be better off with or without ENIC?

Right now, clearly better - but at what point and when should they have sold up and how would that have changed our fortunes - who knows?

Have Arsneal done better or worse since their new owners came in? How are the Chelsea owners doing currently?

Like had we have been sold around the time City were bought by a group as committed to spending whatever they could to whitewash their country then I think we would have won a lot more but we would have only been better off without ENIC if the right group would have bought us at the right time for it to make a difference....

When do you think they should have sold up?

When do you think they should have sold up?
There were three obvious moments where the ENIC project reached a natural conclusion

1. After the CL Final. Stadium project successfully realized, club stature elevated, stale and in need of investment and new ideas on the football side. This was the "declare victory and walk away" moment, Levy would be a hero today

2. After the ESL collapsed. With the vision of an American-style franchise neutered, it stuck ENIC back with the conventional football business practices that they've never felt comfortable in.

3. After Conte made top 4. With Covid fully in the rear view from a financial perspective this was a moment when there were a lot of big-money buyers sniffing around the PL and Spurs were an obvious jewel for rich new management, but with obviously stormy seas on the horizon under ENIC. This was the most money they could have made.

At all three of those points I thought they might sell up. I no longer believe that. Premier League Chairmanship and driving the sport toward NFL-ization is Levy's passion and life's work, he will never willingly give it up.

Joe Lewis' death is our only shot. If Lewis' heirs want and are financially able to leave Levy in charge he'll be here for 20+ more years.

It's just amazing Levy doesn't understand the damage being caused by his inaction on retaining Ange. Truly incredible to think it's all just melting down slowly now and the man has done absolutely nothing so far to stop it.

Can't argue with any of that - after the CL final especially would have been a great time

Real shame that abramvich didn't purchase the club, but then levy would have wanted to stay on as chairman.
But had he come in, look at the trophy count the club would have had, now we are Londons bottom club and a fucking laughing stock.
