It's called a 'promo' y'know to promote the cause.

Same way KFC using dancing numpties in an avert is 'utterly pointless and meaningless' but it's about raising brand awareness ;)

KFC promote their brand as it will lead to higher sales

This isn't that, regardless of how much promotion and awareness they create it doesn't change anything - the owners can choose whether or not they sell.

This campaign is telling people they can "demand change".....they absolutely definitely can't

Yes they got us there and it was probably because of three people . Modric , Bale and Poch . However I will not be ungracious and give Levy no credit , he signed the the first 2 and hired the latter . We have then gradually slipped away at a time where Villa have gone from 3 years in the Championship to above us , with an ownership who are new to the game .

Has it become harder , undoubtedly I fully agree it has become even more competitive. Then in a time of increased competition why would we retreat in to our financial shell on salaries and try to do it with largely kids .

It makes no sense to me I’m afraid .

Oi vey - 3 people? Bale pretty much rose to fame in a CL game.

Can't deal with this nonsense, sorry man - too entrenched in your views. Enjoy them!

I mean, the vast majority of who?

Son fans are son fans, Spurs fans are Spurs fans.

Im sure the number of Korean match goers will go down - but that's generally what it seems a lot of people want anyway.
I don’t want the Korean fan base to go down , it means the new signing has flopped , not sure why anyone would want that . If he can be 85-90% of peak Sonny that’s a massive result.

When was the last time you went to a game at the stadium & didn't go to the singing south stand?

I'm not being racist here but 70-80% (maybe more) of fans who are in the Hotspur Experience with BAGS & BAGS of merch are international fans - I bought tickets right next to the player's bench for the Leicester City game & I was with about 10 other people that weren't Asian in blocks 104 - 001 - 103 - 212. I've photos to prove it when I made new friends there.

I have no issue with international fans but to not factor in Sonny's influence in Spurs attendance & merch is not what I see every time I go to home games don't forget Sonny is also their International captain so it makes perfect sense to me why soo many Asians attend. I'm the same when I go to Bayern Munich games, if Kane isn't starting or playing although I don't mind I would prefer to see him play (not that I'm saying I only support them because of Kane but it's to backup my point)
It’s a good job we have all these Korean fans turning up, as this forum is full of “proper Spurs fans” who, whilst we are playing badly, can’t wait to chuck their tickets on to the exchange, only to, I imagine, return when we are playing better.

I can only think (and I don’t agree with this strategy) that Levy is playing the long game in the hope that FFP, or whatever it’s called now, gets even more ring stinging in the future, placing us strongly for when it happens.

Otherwise, I’m with you, in it makes no sense.

Finnish people 🇫🇮

Do I really have to answer that question ?

What’s clear is that tickets are being snapped up by tourists & the discussion is will the demise of Sonny affect this ? I’d say yes . I’m not saying it’ll mean lots of empty seats but it’s a possibility which will not please our money lending & infrastructure guru .

Fingers crossed

OK cos I have some free time waiting for a report to come in I'll do this.

Between 61 & 2000 we were in Europe 13 times - 14 if you count the intertoto.

Since 2000 we have been in it 17 times during which we were in competitions 13 consecutive years.

Our first appearance in the CL was 2010/11 - the year prior - Bale hardly played.... Defoe was our top scorer.... Crouch scored the Goal against City that pretty much gave us our 4th place finish.

Like you can be miserable about this season all you want but don't re-write our history cos you're grumpy. We were already on a trajectory to the CL long before Bale, Modric and Poch.

Unfortunately , seeing how Barca played this so called ruling in the last window , I can’t see FFP ever being what it set out to do . It’s like politicians being above the law . If you have any influence or power , rules don’t apply

Well I still go to games unless I'm ill - even though I know our PL is dead I want to see us vs Man U & Man City hopefully I will.

I don't judge people on when or if they put their tickets on the exchange or give them to someone else.

I said if we beat Manchester United in the Carabao I would buy the Elite Version of the shirt who scores the winner & it was Sonny - luckily during that time there was a sale :D and only paid £100 for it.

I don't go to away games anymore this season as I cannot commit to the ROI but I would've gladly paid in excess of £800 for a ticket to Wembley but I know a lot fo fans wont be able to pay that.

I don't judge fans on whether they go to home or away games, buy merch or not some people think that buying a kit shirt alone is cringe.

They can indeed 'demand change' wether those demands are met is another question - if you think they wont that's fine don't join em.

I do wonder when we signed Sonny , who was clearly a talent , with the Korean market was in mind too or it was just something we stumbled upon . The cynic in me says the latter as we don’t appear to do plans .

Regardless it’s putting a lot of pressure on Yang Min Hyeo if that’s the reason we got him
I don't believe the club knew how much of a celebrity Son would become.

I love Sonny it's just a shame he'll probably become a 'Spurs Legend' with no trophies like Kane :(

I agree - I don't think people are re-writing history some don't know the history of the club & I don't blame them.

When I became a die-hard Spurs fan in 1991 when I was 7 I had no idea all I knew was Gazza & Linekar was in the team after watching Italia 90. It took me another 10 years to really know about tactics, managers, players and all that shit properly to even talk about Spurs without just saying 'we will beat/lose to *insert team*'

Some people don't have the time to watch old games on Youtube or catch up with every player - back before the internet I didn't even know Jimmy Greaves was as good as he was I just saw him on TV.

Nah, these folks I'm talking to.... they remember the 80s and 90s very well. They just like to make things up because they cannot think a thought that doesnt start and end with Levy

When we won cups ? When we were known as a cup team

I’ve seen us relegated , I’ve seen the level of rubbish we’ve had as players , management & at board levels . What we are seeing today is a different animal , the board has their eye well and truly off the ball because of other business opportunities, there is no planning in the footballing side only the newest trend , for example looking towards youth but without knowing football is a continuous beast and you can’t ignore the present while hoping for the future

not sure if I have read this out of context but it's nothing like it. It's real supporters wanting to be heard with a view to not having a corporate brand focus and the club being more like football club...isn't it? .. nothing like a greasy chicken company or any other company. If other supporters don't get involved, then you are probably right, nothing will change. But alot of supporters may like it how it is now. Not sure why personally, but that's up to them.
