Says the guy arguing that wage to revenue ratio is not a true metric to measure ambition.

Like you, I want us to offer higher wages to go with the transfer fees. We do one or the other, but never both and thats what separates us from the proper teams who want to challenge.

Having less players than Palace, Fulham and West Ham on 100k+ pw is a new low, even for Levy. Its like hes sitting in his office thinking of new ways to shit on us.

If we did not have the Beyoncé money and spent the same on wages then the % would be higher. We would not be a better team because we did not have the Beyoncé money. This % is a load of bollocks. The important thing is total wages where we are 7th. That is not good enough if you want to win the PL. so criticise that and not this meaningless %.

Since professional football started, the team that has paid the highest wages has generally won the shiny things. Pretty well known fact.

Did they always have the highest revenue to salary? Fuck knows. Who cares?

As factual as scoring a lot of goals and conceding few will lead to good things. XG, Ariel duels won and field tilt, not so much of a thing.

But isn't this just potential bollocks when performance incentives are included?

Even wages get skewed when players have their contract extended, so again this isn't necessarily a true measure either, it could be the result of a lack of transfers.

The only thing that matters is we need more quality, just stop relying on data that could well be meaningless.

Come on mate. Lets keep it real :D

All the data out there from every reliable source shows we spend less of our revenue on player wages than everyone else. ....Everyone..It's not even up for debate.
That means we're attracting lower quality players than we otherwise could or otherwise should be.

Why are you trying to dress it up as something it clearly isn't.

This is exactly what people mean when they say Levy's hard-core supporters are defending the indefensible.
 
Even if by some quirk of the Universe Enic and Levy leave, what will the new owners do?

After having spent an absurd sum of money, are they then going to go and spend even more to compete with the Arab states to buy the players needed to win league and Euro titles?

For what benefit to them?

I fear they will want ROI- for the Arabs its about the promotion of their nations and their place in the world especially after the oil runs out.

I fear more of the same for this club even if Enic and Levy are gone, because it would be investment that is already doing nicely and why would they risk that?

The growth prospects for the club are very different if your investment is 4 billion versus ~100 million.

At that kind of purchase price we have to be elite otherwise you're losing money.

I think the same, but what about Chelsea ? spent a fair bit on buying the club ( not as much as it was worth ) they are spending a lot, but their way has been to use a big net get lots of decent players and then sell them for profit in a few years
then you have BHA who have a fixed idea of what they want to do,they have a plan and know who they will bring in next to replace who moves on ( manager or player) if Levy and his gang were not a group of "the emporers new clothes" he woud have adopted the BHA way to football
 
6 weeks ago all the ITK'ers were telling us there was a takeover or part buyout coming,and the changes in directors were the start, well what has happened ? is that just another/new Levy distraction method ?

If it was anything to do with the owners then it’s not the first time but it’s impossible to know as little information is put out there & like all forms of society, rumours start. All we really get from them is “ ambition , wanting to compete” & of course his fucking legacy of infrastructure development, which of course is the main priority of football fans 🙄

Whatever legacy he did have has been eroded by absolute lack of the very thing he spaffs out on a yearly basis. It’s basically Jam tomorrow

I think the plan is for the legacy supporters to give up over the next few seasons.

Selling them jam tomorrow beyond Ange is proving to be impossible.

The generation who opted for Sir Starmer and the student loan compnay, rather than protest and resistance, may be more accepting of ENIC's gruel. They will also go and see Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Since the unusually good times under Poch, the longer Levy has been in charge, the less enthusiastic I am about giving up my time to watch Spurs. The time, the cost, the feelings afterwards - at least we used to live in hope, and have belief that we had a squad that might do something decent in the league. Now, the hope is gone, the squad, more or less the same as last season (but with ongoing injuries), is unlikely to have any kind of miracles worked. The transfer window was another opportunity to get ourselves organised, and get more hope, but since our first league game is only a week away, no new signing now, will be ready - if they ever materialise.

It means that all the nonsense that Levy said about 'competing on all fronts' and 'we want to win the league' - well how exactly can you do that when the top teams are buying world class players and we sign a manager from Brentford with no top-class experience and a West Ham player (whilst losing Son, Maddison, Kulu ongoing)? WTF has to happen for Levy to become a realist and see what he's failing at i.e. the football.
