I'm no expert on contractual laws or English law but how then were the likes of Adrian Mutu sued for breach of contract? and why then are they still in use if players can walk out whenever they choose?

That's a good thing about American sports the clubs still have alot of power and the players have to fall in line.
Not really "the like", Mutu was an exceptional and singular case and he was sued for breach of contract for taking extra curricular drugs and making himself worthless. Remove the cocaine (and his un-saleability) from the case and there isn't a case.

The truth is, in Europe, a contract is more like a gentleman's agreement, purely because of how difficult it is to enforce as cases can take a very long time and cost too much money. However, neither party (and by that I mean club and agent) is stupid enough to break the status quo as if the players make themselves unsaleable by destroying the transfer market, then they'll destroy their own earning potential. A single test case could demolish the player/agent earning potential overnight.

If there wasn't the gross amount of money that there is in football I'm sure you'd see people walk all the time. Fact is, veteran players can actually buy out their contract if they have been with the club long enough anyway. None of them will ever do it though as everyone involved realises the effect it will have on all of their pockets.

Levy always gets away scot free, Burned through a near dozen managers, £300m worth of players in and out. All we have achieved over a decade is a carling cup by a guy who is the supposed worst manager in the history of THFC. The guy who got spurs into the champions league ( your beloved english boy Arry) wasn't backed either when he was screaming for a striker. Nor was that clueless man who got us our highest point tally ever in the premier league era backed with the right transfers.
Same fiasco this season, Whether it was AVB or sherwood, they both needed an adequate leftback. Instead we have made history again by managing to achieve the highest number of individual defensive errors leading to goals.Gross mismanagement.

I don't know at what point some of you will admit ENIC are not doing a good enough job, will it be when liverpool lift the premier league trophy?, when everton qualify for the champions league or when Woolwich win the FA cup. When will the overused excuses of us being better than in the 90s be exhausted?..

all fuckn this you stupid cunts. :nawty:

So basically Levy didn't have the bollocks to keep Bale, but he could have because he had a contract. Also I don't really believe for a minute you know the ins and outs of a multi million pound contract. Contracts exist for a reason and it's not just gentlemans agreement bollocks.

You wanted an answer, there's your answer. Levy sold as we are not strong enough to fight off the big clubs as we need the money too much. I don't think for a second that Bale would walk as his agent would never allow it, but I'm explaining to you that contract law in Europe is nigh on un-enforceable. Take it or leave it.

and I'm explaining to you that I think that is absolute bollocks and you don't really know what the fuck you are talking about

Levy sold because he wanted the money like he always does

Lols, OK. Mate, I used to run about £5m worth of contracts a year. Not football money, I'll grant you but average salary was about £750 - £1000 a day.

Sometimes these people were not good enough, sometimes they decided to just walk off site. We even had to ditch someone for insisting on parking in the MDs spot every day. At worst, I saw a team of juniors coached into senior positions and their work done remotely by one other guy until his deck of cards fell down.

None were ever followed up as it was seen as a waste of time and resource as the outcome, despite things being black and white, was too uncertain.

You seem to be taking a very benign subject very personally. Are you sure you wouldn't do better on a Hello Kitty forum?

So basically you ran a company dealing with abunch of regular working class folks that had fuck all to do with multi million pound football contracts and are just sticking up for Levy because you are a cunt kinda like him but on a much smaller stupider level lol

Lols, no! The very first thing I said to you was I was not commenting on your argument, just offering some insight on why small clubs may be nervous of being too bullish and just take the money.

Our guys were on about £200,000 - £300,000 a year. I guess that makes me on about Darren Ferguson's level... Shit, that's pretty bad actually. Sorry, you're right, I probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

By the way, the law doesn't change the more money you're paid. It just seems that way sometimes.

Carlito Brigante Carlito Brigante

ive been counting the threads you have started which call for levy/enic out by cutting a finger off one of my hands for each one

if you start one more fucking thread of this nature I will no longer be able to post, as Im typing this with my last dam pinkie finger...

don't be a cunt and save the finger...as it stands im already a fucking loser as my only remaining party trick is to say '1 million dollars' and put my pinkie in my mouth...

Or Alan would have had a reality TV show offering contestants the chance to play at Left Back

You might be on to something here, get rid of the scout team and get this going instead.

Call it something like: The Football Factor! Hosted by Micky Hazard (no relation to Eden).

Calling for thousands to join the TV reality show for a chance of a position in the squad of the famous Tottenham Hotspur. Join in as judges Daniel Levy, Donna Cullen, Ledley King and chirpy cheeky geordie Paul (Gazza) Gascoigne laud it on the haves and hit the buttons on the have-nots. Laugh at the no-hopers during initial trials. Gasp at the incredible talents of an unlikely lad. Take bets on who will get past bootcamp! Shiver in anticipation as the trialists get to a judge's home in a stylish and exotic island tax-haven (probably Bermuda). Then, the live shows as we put our final 22 through their paces. Who will win that coveted squad spot?

1) Guaranteed viewerbase, as will be mostly composed of the same types as watch footie, plus family.
2) Guaranteed talent at the end of each season.
3) Guaranteed $$$ from TV rights, phone-ins, etc...
4) Guaranteed exposure.
5) Guaranteed guarantees.

win, win, win, win, win

Another window with fuck all spent.

Where's all the money gone Levy?

Record TV deal, top level prices, what happen to the champions league money? The Berbatov money? The Modric money?

You tried to hedge your bets with spending the Bale money on a load of average shite.

Fuck off you little cunt, you are not wanted anymore.

What would you have done differently?

Carlito Brigante Carlito Brigante - Directing your anger at the wrong place mate. It's Joe Lewis who owns ENIC, who own Spurs. Levy is just his little puppet and does whatever he says - and his job brief is to manage a sell-able asset for ENIC. It's not a football club, it's a billionaires investment in order to make more money.

Be honest about it then, say I'm here to get the best price for the club....come and get it Mohammed El minted.

We have planning permission, we have a fan base, now you do the rest.

I would genuinely take that.

Don't pretend you have any interest in the playing side....in fact influence on the playing side.

Why don't you buy the club Carly? Just look down the back of the sofa for some spare change, that should cover the fee and some left over for a transfer window too.
