Ex-Spurs Player Eric Dier

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Weird.

He's either told he's got no future at the club (which I'm sure he knew anyway) and is now actively looking to move instead of running down his contract.

Or he's thrown his toys out of the pram because he was told he wasn't going to be captain or vice captain. Which would be hugely childish.

Probably had no real approach for him and decided to pay out the remainder of his contract?

The hypocrisy from some fans really is beyond a joke.

Eric's been a model player, who’s been extremely loyal to the club, which some people feel the need to invalidate by pointing out that he’s not truly word class, and has never been tempted by bigger clubs.

You can’t slag off players for having no concept of loyalty in the modern game, and in the same breath wanting players to leave after a patch of shitty performance.

Honestly have a word and pull your head in.

Dier is both not at the level we need and has been a decent servant to the club.

It’s unlikely he will be suitable for a high line Ange system. He is just not good enough and that has been for a good while not a patch, we cannot build our defence around Dier.

He deserves respect for giving his best like Winks and Townsend but also be realistic about needing much better level of defenders.

As for loyalty that only exists from the fans to the club. I have zero dislike towards Kane for leaving, he didn’t go to Chavs or Arse, we didn’t match his ambition so clearly his talent was such we are too small time. Kane is too good for us, while Dier isn’t good enough for us, we will live with players in between those two levels.

Dier hides during games by refusing to tackle and then yells at teammates and points fingers after the breakdown.

We don’t need that around here.
