He was generally ok under Conte in 2021/22
That was a good season for him. I genuinely thought that was the start of his maturity as a defender, but last season put paid to that.
Unfortunately, I don't think even 21/22 season Dier is suited to Ange ball, but if he can recover his form he'll do well enough elsewhere.
West Ham just bought Maguire. Anything is possible.
I’m not convinced tbh now - he needs to go vegan and lose a stone. He’s massive and I reckon c.2 stone overweight compared to say 2016 when he was all action in MF. So cumbersome. Not saying he’s fat, suspect his body fat is low but just heavy and bulky
He’s built like Lebron was before he trimmed down and it completely changed his career. Probably extended his peak by about 8 years
He was hidden in the middle of the back 3. It’s always been the easiest position in that system. Conte won the Prem and Serie A with such defensive renowned defensive greats as David Luiz & Stefan de Vrij starting there. Davinson’s best year at Spurs was in that role.
last I read about it, it is far from a done deal. Maguire is clinging on to stay at Utd for dear life. The writing is on the wall for him regardless.
Glad these faux leader oafs are being phased out. I just can’t stand that type of player.
Hopefully PL clubs start to panic with a few bad results prior to the window. Could be a perfect storm if we bench players like Dier, Hoj, Lloris, Spence etc as they will want out

Defoe’s diet change extended his career by 5-6 years. In his mid 30s keeping Sunderland up almost single handed.
Lukaku ruined himself by bulking up for his Man Utd move; his body shape at Everton was perfect. Conte also got him to trim down at Inter as well.
