Ex-Spurs Player Eric Dier

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Rather than destructively debunk the ratings, how about contributing to impart your influence on them. In other words try and be constructive with the input of your opinion.
Or challenge other posters ratings. I can't do that because I must not try and influence the ratings. I do flag up big differences but nobody ever debates it.
Ratings like a 1 for Hojbjerg when the average is 5 for example, likewise for Dier. It's all included in the averages.
If anyone thinks it's bollox maybe try and improve it instead of writing it off.
They're a waste of time.
Sorry, I know you put a lot of effort in and believe in them, but people will give Dier a high rating if we keep a clean sheet even if it's despite him, not because of him.
Heck, players have fanbois who would give them a high rating based of something they did previously.

I respect raters opinions higher than you do. Only a few are biased due to bad memories of players performance. Most rate on the day, not historically. That can be seen both in the level of the rating and comments made.

What needs to be aimed for is impartial rating of the players performance on the day as opposed to the previous game or games.

My ratings are possibly more in depth than others, not necessarily better or more accurate. But I do log each good and bad examples of play for every player before rating. It's not done on the hoof or instinctively.

Why not give it a try and challenge yourselves to rate accurately.

...And you're the arbiter of who's what, are you?

"Rather than destructively debunk the ratings, how about contributing to impart your influence on them."

Contributing to something one fundamentally doesn't believe in doesn't make any sense.
Honestly, what a sad fuck, trying to eek out some sense of purpose from a silly little rating game on a football forum.

Contribute to make a point rather than dismiss as pointless....make it worthy. Show some determination constructively instead of the determined attempt to destruct.

I don't filter out ratings , I don't need to, they are generally measured and sensible .

A few punters get together and pick a scapegoat. Season before it was Tripps, last season it was Winks and now it's Dier.
They think they speak for the majority but they don't.
Dier is a consistently good player so will of course get consistently good ratings.

Don’t forget the GOAT, Sissoko!

It's not a game and the ratings don't come exclusively from this forum as I have explained previously. Newspapers, TV, podcasts, websites both Spurs and neutral and another forum are included in the mix in addition to this forum. All of those sources don't think it's silly.

You're the proverbial deaf ears... Why would someone make a concerted effort to make an impact on an 'averaged' rating that they have no concern for to begin with......?

You'll find most people here will take it or leave it (no-one is offended by the mere existence of your ratings thread), but your emotional attachment to your ratings project has to accept that many won't be inclined to accept them as credible when it comes to a debate about a player. Nor will they feel inclined to join in (see first line of this post).

I don't filter out ratings , I don't need to, they are generally measured and sensible .

......According to your own sense judgement perhaps.

Same thing applies when it comes to whether or not you deem a poster is "responsible"..... According to your musings above unless they behave according to your preferred behavioral code then they aren't worthy of contributing to your precious ratings anyway.

I only want quality ratings from responsible posters.
Hey Meth Dealer, serious question. Do you think the ratings of people watching games on the box should be equitable with people rating players watching a game in the stadium? I ask because it was only live that I truly began appreciate how horribly inadequate both Hojbjerg and Dier were.
I in particular had a much higher opinion of Hojbjerg when watching him on television. His paucity in tracking runs and shocking lack of mobility is only truly stark when watching him off the ball.
