But we're seeing the result of the opposite change in position.
I dunno, I think he can definitely slot in at CB if needed, but his aptitude for defensive midfield is clear to see.

I was never entirely convinced with him at centre half, though he had the qualities, far too easily beaten in the air, too slow to react and always lost his man. Which is strange considering how different it is when he plays central midfield, maybe he was more time to react in central midfield but even when he played centre half away at Watford, he was beaten to easily and was slow to react when Ighalo embarrassed him.
Keep him central midfield please. Happy for him to slot in there if needed at last resort though.

Dier is a much better footballer than some give him credit for. Was good today and threaded some great passes forward too!
Agreed, but he keeps it simple mostly and to some this means average, too me this just means he is an effective DM.
I would rather Dier kept it neat and tidy. No need for showboating. He's a wonderful DM, aggressive, physical and can play.

two more games of tightrope walking, I think he's definitely more important playing against the Dippers than Utd.
Agree. I'd love to see him go full force against Liverpool with the chance of getting booked instead of tip toeing in the game and they take advantage of it.
