Uruguay and Croatia were good, not great games. It was a good WC for them but hardly vintage.

Before you guys suck each off, I'd point out that without a very generous penalty your XG would be 0.50, so best/deserved would be a bit happy clappy. Eeked out timidly would probably do it more justice.

I don’t think Spain are as spunktastic as some. They are capable of decent spells and have some decent players, but I think Germany were better than them and deserved to beat them. I think they have defensive weaknesses.
England are fucking boring and dogshit tactically (by that I mean they have no coached clue how to do anything with alacrity except shuffle around in a deepish block - when they do have possession, which they sometimes are forced to do because they mostly have played weaker teams, there is no structure to it ) but they’ve definitely got enough stodge/individual ability to grind out this game.
Great in the first half, standard international football stuff where you don’t necessarily have lots of xG but we had total control. Second they packed the midfield and made things hard but we scored a very marginal offside goal and were clearly the better side.
Deserved win. Watkins goal may be low xG but who cares lol? We have players with actual quality who produce game winning moments. I’ll take that over chance creation but not the quality to score.

Not watched a lot of England but the first half they seemed great, even had Kane getting involved and in the box. Second half Netherlands seem to pack their half a lot more and obviously made it a lot tougher, but didn't help Kane was nowhere to be seen.
