Match Everton - Spurs - Feb 3rd - 12:30pm KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well for those few who still thought we were still in the title race, that should have put that to bed?!

Sad A Christmas Story GIF by filmeditor

Who on earth thought this?!

They must have been told at HT they cant do corners like that though? Because second half was completely different and I dont think their HT-talk was "this is working, lets try something else now".

We didn’t lose
That first Everton goal should not have stood
That ridiculous dive was a booking and 2nd yellow
Not a good place to go especially when the ref lets things go
We need to be stronger on and off the ball but I understand the hesitancy after all those yellows and reds we accumulated in the first half of the season

Of course but when you’re three minutes away from winning the match, you should win.

The late goals conceded away at Wolves and Everton have cost us 5 points, for it to happen more than once in a season is really worrying. We need to be much more cynical when we are closing out games. We ended this game still trying to do intricate passes in our third when we should have been hoofing the ball towards the corner and running out the clock.
Yeah I agree. I think this risky possession based football in the last few mins of a close game is silly. Needless risk! Just clear it & push up.
Even Brentford put us under pressure & could have nicked a draw from 2 down.
Seeing out games better is something ang & the team need to work on. We are a bit naive, like with the basic high crosses causing us all sorts of problems.

Not happy to concede that late, but if we are being honest I don't think we would've deserved all 3 points, as much as I would've love to take them.

We are massively missing Sonny in this team at the moment. It's all a bit predictable but with Son, he can do things a bit different.

Fuck me, Everton are an absolute shit club though, which kinds of pisses me off even more about today's result. I've never heard so much bollocks about them being hard done by.

They cheated and got banged 10 points for it so move the fuck on you scouse cunts and stop your whining.

A bit concerned about Ange's management of games in the crucial closing minutes tbf.

Subs and lack of subtle craft, a creeping issue.

Ange has been mostly good with subs but today he was all over the shop, back 3 didn’t work and having Bryan Gil on was like going down to 10 men. Honestly think if not for subs we might have seen that game out.

Even Man City do it. We aren’t too proud to do it too.

And if we reach that goal, we'll probably bow out early so we can concentrate on...............Qualifying for the Champions League

:moursad:
Ha. Yeah an endless cycle of trophy dodging but it seems to be what the fan base want. League cup every 25 years or so is plenty.
Throw in modern fans preferring top 4 over trophies which suits greedy owners like ours.
I agree the prioritising top 4 to then bow out of all the cups to prioritise qualifying for it again makes no sense to me either. But that’s modern football. I’d prefer to actually win stuff but that’s very low on our list of priorities.

This match was like a carbon copy of Wolves away. Scored early and then played shite for 87 minutes, got punished in the end.
