I can't see Sandhills station coping with anything like those numbers. There is nothing else there except the Dock Road, the ground is surrounded by water on 2 and a bit sides.
Logistical nightmare.
The council after 5 years of planning have put a no parking ban on the whole area within 30 minutes walking distance of the ground but not just on match days its all year round.
The mayor also done a photo shoot with his new barriers by the station , I think the clown thought we would be impressed

It looks fine. Standard German stadium. We are behind in terms of modern stadia so it is a good addition, if a little uninspiring. At least it isn't that annoying single tier bowl (with one side maybe having a second tier) that nearly all newish stadiums have (aka Leicester, Southampton, Cardiff, Derby, Hull...the list goes on and on). Almost like they bought a stadium in Ikea.

The original design looked more unique inside and out. Everything is so expensive in this country, it is going to be difficult for teams to build new grounds.

On the new ground, I do fear there will be some safety incident. The station was chaos with 10000 and the those walkways round the stadium look very narrow with the Mersey flanking it. Also apparently the concourses in places were rammed already.

I've got friends in Southport who I visit a lot and have watched the station being constructed. My last trip was a couple of weeks ago for the Caribou Cup fuck up.
Stopping at Sandhils, I couldn't believe the lack of space around the ground and the inadequacy of the station. Disaster waiting to happen.
