Match Everton v Spurs April 3rd

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I actually thought we played OK until the last fifteen minutes or so. Dier, PEH, Lloris, the ones you all hate, had decent games. They equalised with a golazo, you'd be daft to blame it on one player, it was more a collective mental collapse.

On the stream I was watching, the pundit, Stephen Warnock, put the turning point at that crazy short goal kick routine (why does any team do that, I have yet to see any benefit from any team anywhere) and he could be right.

People can quote Danny Blanchflower and talk about the Tottenham DNA, but having the mental strength of spirogyra* has been one of the constants for a lot of the 50 years I have supported Spurs.

Lloris couldn't kick. Or play out at all. He made us nervous all game with his inability to kick, and had no actual goalkeeping to do apart from tame shots. PEH did his usual looking busy with no ability to do anything beyond that. Dier repeatedly gave them the ball in dangerous areas and was let off the hook for this over and over again. All of these actions contributed to us collectively shitting ourselves and retreating in to our shell, it's what happens when you have technically deficient players scaring everybody.

Everton deserved their 'golazo'. They outfought us for most of the night and were in the ascendency prior to the red and then after the pen. We played well for about 15-20 minutes in the first half, and otherwise were abysmal throughout the entire game. If Everton had any cutting edge/players who could make reasonable final third decisions, they win the game 3 or 4-1. But you're right, you can't blame it on one player, there are many shit ones who can have a chunk of it.

They didn't have decent games, as soon as they were under any pressure they made mistakes to lift Everton. Dier tried to gift them. Lloris can't just clear it, has to play Romero into trouble. Hojbjerg passing the ball out of play instead of to Sanchez.

This is the spine of the team and these moments collectively show them as mentally weak and technically deficient under opposition pressure. These players do the same things game after game and sometimes it gets hidden, but sometimes the game is close and they can't hide. These are the three who inspire panic with their decisions on the pitch, they lift the opposition. Tonight was typical, not good enough when the going gets tough.

I feel bad that it has come to this point, but Lloris is just so far past it that I hate watching him play for us.

It's so frustrating watching him boot the ball to the other team or out of play when a more composed goalie would help us retain the ball.

Now his shot stopping is going too? Useless.

Forster should not have been dropped.

I get what you’re saying but Levy wasn’t responsible for that performance tonight

Did he order Moura to put in that ridiculous challenge?

Did he order Stellini to bring him on in the first place?

Did he order Lloris not to even attempt to stop their equaliser?

Did he order Stellini to pick him?

stevee stevee
Fuck off you loser

Where was the game management when they went down to ten men ? Fucking non existent ! That second half made me so angry my misses had to calm me down . This team will be the death of me , it’s so frustrating to watch , if only these jokers cared as much as we do
Disappointed that Stellini just watched it happening and didn't react. We are thin in midfield with injuries, but we need to use Sarr.
