Match Everton v Spurs April 3rd

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Today, i'm slightly grumpy.

After Brighton ill be .........

Had the fortune of watching the game in Archway with a bunch of yanks studying in London. All of them support spurs. Archway has changed...I remember being 14 and drinking around there; I remember fights and old drunks. Back then even had an Woolwich bod lift me up by the neck...kicked him in the bollocks and ran.

Thanks for sharing!

It's not the system.
It's not the coach.
It's the squad.

It was the same at the end for Poch.
It was the same under Mourinho.
It was the same under Nono.
It was the same under Conte.

2 of those coaches publicly called them out on it. Mourinho said "I didn't tell them to do that" when asked my they sat back. Conte said "the players don't have the mentality" after a game where they sat back.

As soon as they come under any form of pressure from the opposition, they drop deep and crumble.

Mourinho was talking shit though, of course he tells them to sit back. Ditto Conte. Sit deep and hit on the break, that’s their vision of football.

Now of course our feeble-minded players being completely unable to play under pressure is a separate thing but dropping off and being compact is the direction they are given. They just aren’t technically good enough or mentally tough enough to get on the ball and play out when the opponent is pushing onto us. It gets too frantic and and we become completely unable to retain possession.

This is where a good manager would change things tactically. Add a midfielder, or change to a back 4 and add another forward, anything to give the opponent a problem. But Stellini thought the key to winning was to introduce Davinson. That’s just fucking stupid. The players deserve stick for being wimps but they are being coached by cowards, of course it rubs off on them. They are drilled to play as if we are scared of the opponent.

100% tactics
Mourinho and conte 2 dinasours blaming players for their inept set ups

I understand bring on Davinson, we only have 1 fit left back/CB he's on a yellow so bring him off (maybe in 2 weeks Davies will be fit)
but agee with you a good coach would have got on an extra midfielder when we started getting over run

Lets not forget. It was davinson on the left as well.
Also had we added a body to midfield that shot gets closed down

most of my time watching spurs (since the early 70's) we have been mentality weak
Poch said after the leicester season that HE woild sort out the weak mentality at the club, BUT he did nothing no players no mental health coaches, no psychologist

yes its dinosaur football under Jose Nuno & Conte, but the players have to be mentality strong as players and as a team,

Lets not not get blinded here by our shit players either. What did conte do to improve his players? What system did he change to when its obvious it wasnt working? How was his coaching. Any players improve? The answer to all that is a big fat no.
He wanted out out and acted like a spoilt child in his time here

It's Contés fault. His antifootball is the cause of this. Two of the relegation battle teams we draw against.

Stellini should have brought on a midfielder and moved to a 4-3-3 but in truth we could concede in any formation.

From the moment we scored we looked vulnerable.

Not even sure we had an attempt on goal im the second half apart from the goal.

A new coaching tean is essential, not that professional players should need to be taught how to pass a football.
