Hi,

Can anyone help me with any info on Albert Edward Hall who played for Spurs between 1935 and 1947, the only info i can find out is he played 44 times and scored 11 goals 1 of those in the FA Cup.

This is my wifes Great Uncle, i only found out he played for Spurs by chance from her granfather who happened to mention his brother played football. My wifes grandfather is 82 and over the years has mislayed any info he had on his eldest brother, when he was young his mother promised him his brothers shirts and Caps but this never happened.

I would like to surprise my wifes grandfather with as much info as i can find and im hoping the good people of the Spurs family can help me out.

I have emailed the club direct in hope they have some info for me.

Thanks

An official Spurs book I have says he played in 40 league games, scoring 10 goals and 33 war time league games, scoring 9 goals. Stats below are league only:

1935/36 1 app 0 goals
1936/37 1 app 0 goals
1937/38 6 app 0 goals
1938/39 24 app 10 goals
1939/40 4 war league app 2 goals
1940/41 no games
1941/42 no games
1942/43 no games
1943/44 no games
1944/45 5 war league app 2 goals
1945/46 24 war league app 5 goals
1946/47 8 app 0 goals

Some notable facts during that era:

22 Feb 1937 - 5th rd FA Cup replay vs Everton, Spurs score 3 goals in the last 6 minutes to win 4-3.
07 March 1938 - 6th rd FA Cup vs Sunderland, our record attendance (75,038)

His most productive season, the one before the war (1938/39) saw debut seasons for Ron Burgess and a certain Bill Nicholson and he played with Les Bennett in 1946/47 (who went on to score 102 goals in 272 appearances for Spurs).

Sorry I can't provide much more information, the book skims over the war years as players were mostly selected based on availability.

Cheers Zin, great find

Someone on Spurs community found what games he played it but didnt find his scoring record so all that info is great.

Iv sent an email to the club, just hoping i get a reply, he also played for Plymouth so sent them an email too, have only managed to find one team picture of him, if anyone else has any info please let me know.
