Competition FA Cup : The road to victory

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's very annoying seeing City and Liverpool get easy draws while we have Villa away. It's a bit like how Woolwich and Liverpool just fell into the caribou semis playing their B team but getting easy draws.

What makes it even worse now is this bizzare rule that yellows carry over and you can easily be banned for a QF or SF! So basically the teams who were taking it seriously and fielding their first team get punished because they'll likely have 2 players banned by semis. While the teams who got soft draws and fluked their way through not even playing their first team, will have no suspensions. They really need to drop that yellow card rule. Should not be punishing teams who go strong early!
On paper, (taking League positions into account) our game today was literally the easiest tie of the round!

We had a handy one today and nearly fuckrd it up. Ive no problem with a tough draw to focus the minds. Look at the league cup
Exactly, it's not the velvet bag & black Ball's fault we nearly ballsed it up!

More than likely be a TV game for the Sunday villa away I'd say
You know how it works:
If there's a CHANCE of Tottenham losing, it goes on the telly!!

But if we want to go far in all the comps that we are in, then we should expect to have lots of games. The issue is having a strong bench for the extra games.
What do you mean by a 'strong bench'? Top players on £100K to £150K sitting on their arses on the bench week in and week out?
The only 2 teams that could and were be able to that were Chelsea and Manchester City, the former illegally bankrolled by a billionaire crook, the later again illegally bankrolled by an oil state.
Our bench is as good as most other teams, but when you get the amount of injuries we've had, any team would suffer.
There is no way Spurs, or nearly all other PL clubs, can get to and win 3 cup finals (League Cup, FA Cup and European trophy) in one season.

We're gonna do a cup treble, though.

Ange will go from favourite for next sacked to the 2nd most successful Spurs manager in 6 months.

Levy will become the 2nd most successful chairman in club history.

TFC servers will meltdown.

I think home to morecamb or accrington stanley is easier than away to any of them conferance teams. Home advantage is massive against them lower league teams

I'm pretty confident we'll knock over Villa.

With our current, how will I put this, patchy form in the league, cup runs become more important.

With us still competing in three cups, a good window is critical.

This season could still turn out to be special.

I don't mind Villa away. We beat them 4-0 away last year and 4-1 at home already this season. Not saying it will be as easy as that, but as others have mentioned our League Cup draws were a lot harder.

You have to go to these places to win trophies.

We badly need to avoid those EL play off games.

Villa don't worry me at all tbh - we are a kryptonite team to them with their equally open high line and some slow defenders. They are an over rated team.
The game at Anfield will be very energy sapping though which is a bit shit for us. Hopefully some players back and firing by then.

Based on today’s strugglefest I don’t think playing a league 1 or championship side next round would do us any favours.

If anything maybe they’ll be more up for it playing a premier league side.
I'm of a similar mind.

I am way more zen if we get drawn against a PL opponent than if we get drawn against a team from the lower divisions. We seem to be too lax against those types of teams and making it too hard for ourselves.
