He's so incorruptible that he uses blatant corruption to attack at the heart of corruption itself.

Fighting fire with fire, or something like that.

In today's edition of "FIFA is truly rotten", Infantino claims that running the world cup every 2 years will "prevent African refugees from drowning in the Mediterranean"....

This is mind-boggling. They're actually the most evil organization alive. Comparable to ISIS.
Actually makes you think that a Superleague might not be such a bad idea.

Then you realise that would be funded by the same people.

Football is dead, and FIFA are selling off the organs.

Reminder that FIFA spent 30 million USD producing a major movie about the founding of FIFA.

This is how the movie synopsis concludes:
"Corruption within FIFA builds up over the years from Havelange's expansion efforts. As president of FIFA, Blatter is tasked to clean this up, for which he is seen as a controversial president. Many FIFA officials attempt to vote him out of office because of how incorruptible he is. The movie ends with a 2006 vote, in which Blatter is able to retain his presidency by cowing the corrupt members of FIFA, threatening to expose their ill deeds if they do not endorse Blatter and his anti-corruption campaign by voting for him as the FIFA president."

The worst part of that? Imagine writing a propaganda film that purports you to be a champion of anti-corruption. And then imagine you're so fucking corrupt and fucked in the head, that in the publicity materials you brag about using blackmail to win an election as evidence of how uncorrupt you are.

:goonermong:

Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini to go on trial in June to face corruption charges

Former Fifa president Sepp Blatter and former Uefa president Michel Platini will go on trial in Switzerland in June to face corruption charges.

Swiss prosecutors say Blatter unlawfully arranged a transfer of 2m Swiss francs (£1.6m) to Platini in 2011.

Quite staggering that 75% of the 22 people on FIFA Exco who voted for Qatar to be next World Cup venue have been convicted (or died before trial) of various corruption offences, and charges could still be made against a few of the other 25% not yet convicted.

Who should deal with the problem is less clear given FIFA has not - Switzerland as that is the country where FIFA is located (but their laws on corruption in sport are weak, maybe why FIFA, UEFA, IOC are there) or who else ?

Broadening the thread for purely FIFA related to other 'Football Uncovered' finance/dodgy owners/corruption type stories :

5th of an 8 episode Series one on 'Football Uncovered' this time on Villa. Could be quite illuminating.
