Liam Twomey of The Athletic, the journo who spent most of last year writing, podcasting, TV apps stating that Chavs will make FFP because their wage bill will be "massively decreased". It went up the largest single jump of any Club in Europe (20%) to £404m!

Is that wages or including agents fees? Either way, same issue

Its all a complete farce . They spend more time in legal battles than organising football matches.

Just let everyone spend what they want.

Do we all need a maths degree to watch football in future?

What the hell am I reading?!, you sound like one of those bitter Villa or Newcastle fans upset because their clubs cannot fast track their way to success.

I'm in no doubt that PSR rules are there to stop another City or Chelsea coming in who are financially doped to the eyeballs and essentially catching up the leading clubs in the league but why is this a good thing? As much as we want to see other clubs compete with the top clubs to challenge for the league because of course it's a nice story at the same time people ignore when owners come in and leave clubs high and dry, Leeds/Portsmouth/Bolton/Everton were run into the ground and almost went under, the reason is because they had reckless owners...that won't happen under PSR rules.

People don't really understand how PSR works, it doesn't limit owners from coming in and spending their own money at all - let me remind you:

They can invest £30m cash per season from their own pocket operating at a loss
UNLIMITED amounts of money on infrastructure that in that increases revenue (like a stadium for example)
UNLIMITED amounts of money on club facilities for training
UNLIMITED amounts of money on building youth facilities
UNLIMITED amounts of money building a multi club model which opens access to scouting networks, coaches and players from around the world

These guideline will ensure that whichever owner comes in they actually care about the long term future of the club and want to improve the standing of the club via long term investment, as opposed to owners coming in for their own benefit to money launder or sportswash or essentially cheat their way to success.

It's pretty simple, if you record losses of £130m over a 3 year period which is generous if you ask me then you get punished, the PL even give these club opportunities to sell players before the June 30th deadline AFTER the season has finished and yet fans still complain, it's fucking incredible. The PL could actually do a La Liga and not allow teams to register players should they spend more than they're allowed to but these clubs are ALLOWED to spend then cut back.

The PL haven't been harsh, these rules are incredibly lenient, clubs have generally overspent and are now facing cutbacks, well here's the thing...if you run your club properly and have a sustainable and consistent spending structure then you wouldn't even need to sell players but clubs would rather gamble and and when it goes wrong start crying that they initially voted for are unfair, it's incredible.

Lastly you'd think that any Spurs fan wouldn't be in favour of this because we are a handful of clubs who have stuck by the rules, the reason why we can spend more money now despite historically our revenue streams not being anywhere near the top clubs is because we've built a new stadium, we've increased match day and commercial income, you want clubs like Newcastle and Villa to do a City and Chelsea to come in and surpass us...we have suffered at the hands of these clubs because they've just financially doped their way up the league, do you not think we'd be sitting on more trophies and more success if PSR wasn't in place 20 years ago?

What's stopping Villa or Newcastle on building or expanding their stadium? Nothing other than greed - they just wanna do things quickly and cut corners, how about they go through what we went through and actually build sustainable wealth over time.

Well lets all get an MBA and become chartered accountants so we can understand how much we have to spend this summer.

They are going down a rabbit hole with more and more complex rules where nobody knows what the fuck is going on. The game is overshadowed by endless speculation and rumours where teams dont even know how many points they have.

Theyve been trying to implement FFP for 10 to 15 years now and its never worked, and it never will.

No, fans don't know what the fuck is going on, clubs and club owners are we aware of what the rules are hence why the majority of clubs voted them in, why all of a sudden now the clubs who funnily enough who are at risk of breaching don't like the same rules they voted for and complaining that they're unfair?

What do you mean FFP has never worked? What is your idea of rules working? Current PSR rules where teams now have to cut back because they've literally overspent tells you they are working.

Clubs voted for these rules to curtail city. When city get off scott free and the very clubs that voted for these rules get caught out, it will all disappear.

Seems to be an endless number of ways of 'clever accounting' around FFP.

"It has since come to light that the transfer included an obligation for Villa to buy the 22-year-old back this summer if Sheffield United were relegated, which of course they were. Both Chris Wilder and Unai Emery have confirmed that Archer will now return to Villa Park this summer in a deal worth £14 million.

Effectively, that means the deal has turned into a loan move for Sheffield United with a £4 million loan fee. But on the balance sheet as an £18 million transfer fee, helping Villa comply with profit and sustainability regulations in order to strengthen Unai Emery's squad for their first European tilt last season.

That Stefan slsbn fella that’s all over Twitter and Talksport is a gaslighting City prick that needs to be put back in his box.

He’s painting himself as an objective observer when he’s anything but.

Total cunt.

Basically if you can find a clear way to pin something on them you can find a way to get a nice pay cheque.

Need an Elliott Ness type in a position of authority and a backbone.

Sort of dweeb that got bullied at school for being a know it all (hated by teachers) and a grass (hated by everyone else). Definitely still on the city payroll
