I don't even want to know why you know it off by heart pal :clintonohshit:
Few years ago Woolwich away, at the Emirates not Highbury so can't be that long ago, maybe 6-7 years ago, saw quite an extensive fight not too far from the ground. No idea if it was our main firm or another little lot. Small numbers on either side. What struck me was how fast it all was when you see it up close.
Cardiff away in the cup, the game mentioned on this thread. I was in the escort from the pub near the station to the ground (and back again afterwards). This was mainly our firm but also a few normal fans like me who happened to go for a drink in that pub. This took about an hour (and we missed some of the game) because of Cardiff lads coming to "meet" us. They lobbed pints and bottles at us from one of the pubs we passed, I tried to get out the way of them and the Old Bill pushed me back into the road and into their path! A few fights where both Spurs and Cardiff broke the escort before and after the game.
Lazio away, the time someone was stabbed and nearly died. I didn't see that incident, but at the game there was a small fight with the Old Bill. During the game it went around that anyone going to the toilet was getting attacked by them with their batons! Also people were pissed off at the police being shit the night before, (and also just pissed), so it went off after the game in the concourse whilst we were locked in, the riot police were ran down some stairs I think.
I also randomly saw a fight, not at all organised, on a bus back to Lime Street after Everton away a few years ago. Really gobby scouser mouthing off at some yids, given plenty of warnings, and eventually there ended up being a fight just one on one, the scouser got what he was asking for.
Maybe a few other incidents at home games, which probably most people have seen on the High Road, where the away escort is broken briefly and a few punches thrown, but nothing much.
Considering all the games I've been to, it's not much to have seen over the years really, and it was easily avoided on all occasions. The only times I've been scared was Lazio away getting to the game (because of what happened the night before and other incidents in Rome with English clubs over the years) and Partizan Belgrade away before the game, and both times nothing happened in the end, and it was more of an enjoyable adrenaline rush than anything else. West Ham used to be a bit hairy coming out after the game (back in the late 90s) but those times abroad were the only times I was proper bricking it!
I think football violence and the risk to the ordinary fan is blown out of all proportion by the media. Certainly seems it was different in the 70s/80s, and I can't comment on that, but I imagine there was still an element of exaggeration and scaremongering even back then.

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me they didn't make it into the shelf. The guys who went in there were a scary lookingI was in the upper shelf.
They were in the lower say about what is now blocks 29/30. Just below one of the staircases
I remember meeting my old mate who I used to go home and away with when I was a kid. Turned out to be a right hooligan
As we were walking up the stairs to the upper shelf there were a handful on the other side , you know where you can't get to , and they shouted " there's xxxxx " I was shocked they knew him by his surname. Insults were traded. So we knew they were there
( edit turned out he couldn't even have a decent night out with us. We were in a local pub in Shoreditch aroud the same time and he was looking over his shoulder all the time for rival football hooligans Couldn't go here or there with us as he could bump into West Ham or Woolwich)
I wondered why they never came up in the first place. No way were they getting up into the shelf. They broke out and made a little progress. Then they didn't have much resistance where they were.
It all went off outside as well when everyone was waiting for them to come , and I got a few digs.
Boring twat :dierpochhug:
That's an alias of Claudes. His best days are past him so now makes up for it by trading insults with TyMy Woolwich mates at school used to talk about a hard man of theirs called Bones. Who the heck was he?
I'm glad I never met him.
I have this all played out in my head. Hilarious.Saw a funny / odd scrap. It was the game v Man Utd in the snow. Parked up in the Shell garage up by Northumberland Park. Get out the car and these Mancs are giving it large, as well as throwing snowballs. One local is standing out the front of his house (sounded Eastern European) and the Mancs chuck a snowball at him. He calls them out, one swings for him, then about 5 of his mates pile out the house. All slipping and sliding all over the show, trying to fight on the ice covered pavement. I was on the other side of the road, and overhear some young Mancs wondering "is that their firm"...... must admit, I found it all highly amusing.
Anyway, I'm west upper on Sunday, block 2. May have to wear a woolly hat to protect from the shrapnel
Didn't some Anderlecht fans smash out the windows at The Olive Branch a few years ago?
I done them Wolves cunts on me own. Nobody, but nobody, takes liberties withSouthStand Billy .
Evil cunts.
Edit: Me and my mate Chris were chased down the High Rd by a bunch of Derby 15-17 year olds. We were 12. We hid behind the counter of a tobacconist. Not our finest hour.
Joe, you and chris should come and and meet Billy and co we'll take care of you and would love to buy you both a drink on Sunday..
Should be in the Antwerp around noon.
Top Man..
Yes they did although it was alleged that it was Chelsea fans that instigated it.. another bunch of cowards...
