Player Fraser Forster

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You don't save those from that range and power.
That's why you have systems in play, points of engagement to minimise these chances even happening. With Fraser in goal we're absolutely limited to league 1 football. People moan at Ange's play but if down to Ange he's got Fraser rushing out there like he should have. This isn't Sunday league... This isn't the top flight football in the 80s. It's elite level football. You can't have a 37 year old, 6ft7 overweight keeper in goal at this level period.

It's really not. It's top flight football and the reality is our keeper, albeit as a stand-in is not the right standard for a team wanting top 4 football. The guy was let go as a free agent from a relegation side 2 years ago...

Whinge about trf policy all you want, but :

1. It doesn't mean FF is to blame for their 2nd goal
2. That FF is preventing Angeball from working.

That IS cobblers on both fronts.

I thought his unavailability was initially described as an illness, no? Back when there was that flu bug around the camp?

But that was weeks ago.

No news he had recovered until a few days ago - and illness first reported about 2 weeks ago (not when Moore went down with virus)

Some virus illnesses take more out of people than others, so perfectly possible Forster was more affected than others.

It would be weird timing to make that decision, but who knows.

Forster's a quality shot stopper and seemingly a good bloke, but he's extremely ill-suited to this system and extending his contract was a really strange decision.

And then I just don't really understand what Austin and Whiteman are still doing here.

Austin and Whiteman are here to make up the club-trained numbers in our European squad and save shots in training. Both the club and players know they aren't here to actually play.

All of a sudden Austin looks like a viable member of our squad.... + his club trained status is huge for us right now.

Could do a lot worse than transitioning Forster into our GK-coach role..... (The only way that last contact actually makes sense, but fair fucks to him; he did pretty well as emergency cover in Vicario's absence.)

Whiteman may as well leave at this point.... Even with his CT status he has no role here besides 4th/5th keeper and if things ever got that bad the rules make special allowances for an emergency signing.
