Player Fraser Forster

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I like him. Think he is a really good keeper. If keepers were good with their feet they would be outfield players.
At some point this fashion of passing to the keeper will change . It can’t come soon enough in my opinion .

Considering how little time and resources teams invest into the backup GK spot in squad building, anything you'll get from him is a plus. The fact that he was actually one of the best players in the team for consecutive matches means that he already did more than most backup GK's are supposed to do.

As long as he doesn't have a total mare like he did it's fine. It's not fair to expect more from him. If he's not that good on the ball, or doesn't clear from his line as much/as quickly as he should have or whatnot, so be it.

After Fraser made a brilliant save, the guy next to me was praising him and said what a great job he had done, then two minutes later, not one but two howlers, Booby-Mimms-esque.
All goalies make howlers in their career, hopefully these will be it for the season, and as they didn't cost us the game (just gave us palpitations), I'll give him a pass on this occasion.
Tomorrow's game will be a test, no question, and we'll soon see if he can bounce back.
🤞

Who is your preference?
I’ve said before I’d love for us to try for Kelleher at Liverpool, but for a multitude of reasons I can’t see it even being considered.

I’m sure there’s a keeper out there that has a solid all round game but also crucially is good with the ball at his feet. It’s a big weakness of both Vicario and Forster and it would add a completely new dimension to our game if we had a GK that could actually start attacks efficiently.

Vicario has really improved on that front, he's not elite like Ederson but his kicking and bounce passing has come on leaps.

Forster's contract ends in the Summer so we'll be looking for a new keeper in Jan, if not then Summer as Vicario needs legit competition.

Absolutely. I hope we lead the way in changing the fashion. Passing towards the goal from a deep defensive position is just asking for it. Our defenders play the ball into the box more often than our attackers do at the other end.

He has improved for sure, but he’s still far far off being comfortable enough on the ball to really be an asset to our play style and be a proper contributor to building up from the back.

I just think we could get a better, more suited goalkeeper to our play style than Vicario, and I hope that is who we target as opposed to a cheap back up.
But we all know how we operate so I’m certainly not holding my breath.

Doing his best but again, a man not suited to the system, well past his sale date still representing us. Levy has a lot to answer for. Was on Forster again today being in no mans land. Just far too slow yet again.

Sick of seeing this guy in goal. Basically conceding everything that's on target ATM. It's absolutely killing us. Not good with his feet, terribly slow, and now now his heads dropped it's making players around him nervy too.

You can’t blame him for that second goal, it was an exquisite finish. His save from the header in added time is the only reason we didn’t end up losing the game. His passing was generally fine.

Forster is not the reason we have been shit for the whole of 2024.

Of course not.
But you can’t see him at goal and not be scared. That header was so slow Vicario would collect that ball, giving him credit for basic save.

What game were you watching? He's in absolute no mans land. The lads have held their line on the 18 yard box and the balls been played in well behind them. He SHOULD be rushing out and smothering the ball - Vicario and any other top flight keeper does there. If he stays on his line - which he does... He needs to be ready for that shot. Just a single step further out, engaging the opponent and it hits his shoulder. Instead he's more worried about the ball being played across the box. He does nothing and is simply too slow to react to all situations and the ball flys inches over his shoulder.
