For anges system to fully work, it relies on all conditions being bang on 100% of the time.
That's not going to happen of course, even clubs like Madrid would struggle with that.
The system falls over regularly because, when mistakes happen or it breaks down, the only way the team is set up.to counter it is, to rely on VDV pace to dig the team out of it.
When the mistakes occur, it allows whoever we are playing too many chances offered up against us. Its deeply flawed and not sustainable certainly in this league.
He won't change it of course because of his arrogance, hopefully he will be changed during the summer window.

the third goal against AZ was as Angeball as we have seen in ages.
We see ''Angeball'' every week, passing it around at the back, maybe eventually getting the ball to wide players up front, then passing it sideways until we lose the ball. He's a possession based manager. What we saw on Thursday for the 3rd goal was a counter attack, nothing to do with Postecoglou's tactics, we saw the chance for a quick break and took it, just how we used to play when Kane was here under Conte and Mourinho. Counter attack.

That’s what’s been happening. It’s not the goal though

Just leaving for the game , I'm hoping for a win . I'll be singing loud and Proud trying to be the 12th man . So let's do this this and Up the SPURS.....COYS...&...TTID....................CSWY

Guess we go as strong as possible giving we are so close to the international break. Bentancur and Udogie come in to freshen it up but not sure what other changes can be made. I'd like to see Gray get a game in midfield but that's just me! I'd give him the nod over Bergval for this one.

Vicario
Spence Romero VDV Udogie
Gray Bentancur Maddison
Odobert Solanke Son

Actually I would play Porro at right back over Spence. Spence looked wrecked the last day and was well below his usual standards in the second half. A rest would be no harm

We have played 14 games against the teams currently in the top half. In those games we have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 10. Absolutely horrendous record. As soon as we play a somewhat decent team we struggle. Therefore, I can't feel very optimistic about the game today, especially considering we played on Thursday.

That goal was 100% Angeball.

They pressed us in our own half. We turned it over but Odebert wins it back, onto Porro who passes back to Romero, who goes all the way back to Vicario to Spence (the crowd is now getting nervous as AZ press our playing our from the back). That is literally "playing out from the back" using the back four and keeper. Spence onto Maddison who comes through the middle to break through the press, back to Spence, to Son, to Spence to Solanke to Odebert.

There are TEN passes in the move. It happened in 30 seconds. There was no "quick break". That is not counter attack.

Watch it here. The move begins @ 58 seconds and the goal is 1:28

I think he’s fine. Been called up for Spain too. I’d still think about Gray at RB for this one but maybe changing both FBs from a winning team is too much

I would rate Udogie better defensively than Porro- so I guess depends on the opponent- can we afford Udogies worse offense vs Porros worse defense?

Udogie I think could handle Traore better than Porro could Iwobi. Then again I don't know that Fulham are a team that should warrant us making defensively oriented choices. Then again though- they are ahead of us in the table and maybe should be afforded some respect.

I think Ange will opt for guns blazing as usual and choose Spence/Porro LB/RB.

It's really great Ange has come around to seeing the error of his ways with inverted fullbacks and decided to work on overlapping fullbacks instead. I'm pleased for his personal growth as a manager in this area. Better late than never.
