ps Galatasaray.
pps Unless I'm mistaken, saray means the fortress. But what Galata means I do not know. It seems to ring towards gallant. Like some sort of luxurious things. Or something along those lines. Turks were and are always huuuuuuge on that sort of stuff. Especially in and around Istanbul where sultans resided.
ppps Galat - A - Saray. Interesting.
Hello! As a Galatasaray fan, I follow Tottenham in the Premier League and I wanted to respond after seeing your message.

Our team gets its name from a school founded in 1481 by Sultan Bayezid II to educate statesmen. This school, originally called "Galata Sarayı" (meaning Galata Palace), took its name from the area where it was established. Today, the school exists as both a high school and a university and it is one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Turkiye. Anyone who wishes to become the president or a congress member of Galatasaray Sports Club must have been educated at Galatasaray High School.

As our club's founder Ali Sami Yen stated, "Our goal is to play collectively like the English, to have a color and a name, and to beat teams that are not Turkish." This mission highlights why European matches hold special significance for Turkish people and Galatasaray fans. Since Tottenham is a big club, I am expecting really hostile stadium. I hope for an exciting game and wish Tottenham the best of luck in the Premier League!
