No really.
He's on loan! He's not our player. If it doesn't work out he goes back to Madrid. It hasn't worked out, so he goes back to Madrid.

all i would say is in fairness to bale he has said today that like any player he needs 2/3 games to gat back to anything like, cant expect him to turn it on after just a few cameo appearences, look how long he was benched by that frog at his own club, surly he cant be expected to come and just be turned on like a cold tap and expect hot water to come out instantly, needs time to run and warm up!!
He draws £34m of which Tottenham will contribute less than £7m if what's reported about his contract is true.Yes, he can go back having drawn the best part of £8 million over 9 months on loan- lovely![]()
If he’s not needed for the whole nine months and clearly he’s not going to be - then he should be sent back today so ending the situation. He draws £34m of which Tottenham will contribute less than £7m if what's reported about his contract is true.
But we aren't stuck with him. He's a RM player, not a Tottenham player. He's their problem, not ours.
It's a season-long loan I believe, so he's here until the end of the season (there might be an injury clause in the agreement that has him sent back if his injury clearly makes him unavailable to play during his loan spell, this is normal for loans, however, this usually is with players that are still in their development phase, with Bale they just want him gone and off their books). If he’s not needed for the whole nine months and clearly he’s not going to be - then he should be sent back today so ending the situation.
You’d have thought there must be a pay as you play big money package that could entice an out of contract player worthy of £7M based on appearance’s and that we’d get more than nine months out of him what-with his incentive being he’s paid on appearances. The system is a joke- £7M to warm the bench and receive free medical care!
So we are stuck with him and he will kop £7M; as I said Daniel Levy has lost the plot!
He's supposed to be a WorldClass player, he's certainly;y on a WorldClass contract, this is what it costs for anyone to play him. Seemed to please most of the fanbase in the summer, tad hypocritical for anyone to focus on the money (even those like me that weren't remotely interested in him coming back).
I have always had (even before he went to Madrid) a concern over his attitude and his contribution to the team holistically (his individual talent was clear, so on that level he adds positively to a team). For all the marketing guff around him as a humble family man etc he never came across as a "team player", everything was about him, with his solo laps around the pitch post-game with his teammates back in the dressing room, him choosing when to train or not (this did piss off his teammates as per Defoe) and his mixed messages coming out from his social media like only last week saying he's training hard but in reality, he's not travelled with the team because he told the manager he's not happy with a niggle (and yes, the social media post was probably not him but his marketing team).
It's always been about him.
My point of view exactly. I would love to be wrong about my initial feelings when he re-signed. I was more or less told that I was being far too negative and he had been dealt a rough deal by RM. To me, it just came over as a bit of a PR stunt and GB is using us to see if he can get fit to play for Wales. He's finished at this level but Bale fans are just refusing to believe what their eyes are telling them. He needs more minutes or laughably maybe the previous manager would have got more out of him and on and on it goes.
I'm no Bale fan and didn't particularly want him back but if he miraculously turns things around then fair play i would be delighted, i don't mind eating humble pie if it's for the good of the team.
I applaud 'Arry for that admission, it takes a big man to do that. I still wouldn't have him back though, unless it was in a consultancy / caretaker role to help out when Jose does go.He knew his boss was a cunt. The same boss that stood squarely behind him through the court case and offered him an increased contract once it was over.
Which Redknapp only wanted to sign once someone else got the England job.
Redknapp has since admitted not doing his job at Spurs properly over that period
Only one person acted like a cunt over that period.
Today's Jose's comments prove exactly what I said.He was asked about Bale and gave an answer about Bale.
It's not his fault Bale's mental state makes him think every niggle is a tear/strain, it's just the reality of the fact that Bale has had so many injuries his mind has gone as well as his body. He needs to be playing low-intensity football where he can walk around like the MLS.
Prem is too much for him.

Bale: the Vegas yearsHe was brilliant, absolutely godly for us in the past, but this old man Elvis impression is horrific to watch. Make it stop.
