Good info ARc, and when you consider how much more goals Utd were scoring than us over the respective time periods (I assume) - even better stats.

I don't know where I stand on this Bale/Giggs thing

Giggs is an all-time great - arguably the best-ever Prem player

Bale is nowhere near that level in status, but if you look at the two players at 23 both offer so much and it's hard to split them.

It's like Bale is a better player than Bobby Moore ever was, but he'll probably never equal his status in the game.

I'm not a fan of comparing players, especially ones of different eras but even Giggs and Bale aren't truly comparable given Giggs is part of the most successful English club in their most dominant time and Bale isn't...whether, at 39 Bale will have had the chance to achieve the success Giggs has, then there might well be comparisons drawn.

A friend of mine who doesn't follow any team and only follows football with a neutral's interest said to me the other morning that he had heard the Spurs fans had a new song to the tune of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart":

"Bale, Bale will tear you apart, again."

I have no idea where he heard this, but is it true? Seems pretty inspired if so, and will catch on, I'd have said.

Swansea sang it last season, replace Bale with Swans. Man Utd use it for Giggs as well.

Never heard it at Spurs though.

All Spurs fans should be given the chance of participating in establishing a public company focusing entirely on retaining the Bale: Shares can be issued and all the fans can own a piece of the Bale, everyone wins and the club can build around the Bale so that we can challenge for the league. The name of the company Bale PLC!! :bale2:
