That's where he was born and learnt his football so that's his boyhood club..... but I remember watching him at Spurs and he played brilliant in every match he played.... really don't know why the new generation that never saw him play for Spurs hate him so much as he gave it his all when he played

I watched him I think around 1993 at WHL and England were playing midweek and he was England captain at the time. It was very noticeable that he deemed the England match more important and his goal was to stay injury free during that match. He pulled out of tackles and we lost the match. A bit like Lo Celso in recent years. I liked him up to then but that was not acceptable to me.

As I’ve said before; he was a hero of mine and did a LOT to win us the 1991 FA Cup ; why shouldn’t he be allowed to say whatever he wants about things that are going on in the world 40 odd years later . It’s hardly like he’s being controversial.
I wish more licence-fee funded millionaires had the strength of their convictions and the honesty to tell the world what they actually think.

Completely agree; at the end of the day they pay him ( and don’t own him) to present a football highlights show ; he can think and say whatever he wants ( as long as it doesn’t break any laws ) .
It actually makes him a more “interesting personality “ ; than say Steve Ryder or David Jones .
