Circa 1995 I was about to board a plane in Barbados when I noticed Liniker in the queue just ahead of me. I very politely approached him and asked if he would sign my boarding pass. Without speaking and without making eye contact he snatched the pass from my hand, quickly scribbled on it and thrust it back at me. Wanker.

That's where he was born and learnt his football so that's his boyhood club..... but I remember watching him at Spurs and he played brilliant in every match he played.... really don't know why the new generation that never saw him play for Spurs hate him so much as he gave it his all when he played

I agree and had no problem at all with him as a player especially him scoring against the great unwashed in the semi final!!

I watched him I think around 1993 at WHL and England were playing midweek and he was England captain at the time. It was very noticeable that he deemed the England match more important and his goal was to stay injury free during that match. He pulled out of tackles and we lost the match. A bit like Lo Celso in recent years. I liked him up to then but that was not acceptable to me.
Didn’t know that and we helped him a lot when his son was ill
