It's not even that the league is terrible .. I mean it is weaker team for team for sure, but its also just the environment. He's clearly happier playing over there, physically it is less demanding and teams focus more on work with the ball than on anything else.
Some players are just not suited to English football, not because it is some different level but because week in week out it takes a physical toll and especially if you're injury prone and fucking hate crap weather and miserable people you're going to hate it here.
