Player Glenn Hoddle

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Couple of thoughts.

1. Hoddle is a club legend and probably the best player we ever had. No doubt he’s a spurs legend

2. I also don’t doubt that he just wants the club to succeed. Of course he does. He bloody loves us. Remember his reaction in the CL semi final? Bloke nearly had a heart attack that day ffs.

3. Of course he’s ’earned the right’ to have his say and opinion, but I’d say that everyone has the right to an opinion anyway.

4. I don’t particularly enjoy his punditry but I do respect him. That doesn’t mean that I, or anyone, is obligated to agree with everything he says. It’s fine not to. Just be respectful about it and him. In fact be respectful about other people’s opinions, full stop.

It’s just personal preference isn’t it?

I also wonder if it’s a generational thing. My dad’s about the same age as Glenn, and agrees with a lot that he says and enjoys what he says.

Me personally, I find it a bit too negative. However, as others have said, it’s his opinion and he has a right to it.

To be honest, I find myself putting a lot of commentators on mute, because I’d rather watch the game without having to listen to someone else

Happy clapping to a 4 nil win on the south coast.
With BJ getting 6 for 6.
As for Glen, he more than earnt his right to any opinion on us. Think he's wrong though.

The Arteta chant? Nowhere near as good as the 'When I was a little Boy' chant.

Got a brother and grand daughter living in Brighton. I love it there. Always found people kind

But the Old Bill. Fucking disgraceful. Probably cast out of the Met for being too thick.

Anyway, keep happy clapping.

I thought that I had no more tears left to give after Ajax, but hearing him say (Paraphrasing) that he was so glad that he was still around to witness it, set me off again.

Absolutely love that clip. He hadn't long recovered from a near fatal heart attack at the time iirc

Hoddle the player was amazing but he’s done some shit since then. Managed Chavski ffs, don’t ever forget that. That alone tarnished a part of the God like glow he had when he left us for Monaco. As a pundit he tries so hard to be impartial on our games that he goes too far the other side. I loved the way we played when he was a world apart from any other player in our Club but some of you are daft if you think he’s Spurs through and through and he’s ok to talk shite about us

Chelsea were a tinpot piece of shit when he managed them. They hadn't even earned the right to be considered major rivals. We can't just piss all over legends of the club because their career took them to places we don't approve of.

Pat Jennings is a club legend and is always representing Spurs at multiple events even though he played for Woolwich at the end of his career.

Hoddle grew up supporting Spurs. Became one of the best ever players to play for Spurs. And went on to manage Spurs.

He is the epitome of "One of our own " And yes, he's Spurs through and through.

Hoddle is being briefed by producers about narratives to follow when covering Spurs. Those producers have, in all likelihood, researched Spurs fan views on the internet as well. They probably think that Glenn is representing a balanced view of Spurs fans positions on the team.

I agree, Hoddle's frustrations as a fan are understandable... I've said some awful things about us sometimes... And I FUCKING LOVE the club!

Difference is, I never managed the club when we were truly shit! So he has SOMETHING to answer for!
League Cup 2002 v Blackburn was there for the taking...

But he/we didn't!
