Player Guglielmo Vicario

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Gray gets a free pass for this 'mistake'.

Vicario is the senior man and can see the danger he played Archie Gray into.

Vicario has also been involved in multiple situations such as this over the last 3 seasons.

Gray is a young player who may improve.

Vicario is one of the most error prone and unreliable goalkeepers to have played for Spurs without being dropped.

The loyalty to this clown is misplaced.

Along with Porro these two bad apples need to be purged from THFC.

Neither of them are as good as they appear to think they are.

Both are always in the thick of it when a shit goal is conceded.

he shouldnt play it to his right, the ball needs to come square on (so he can play it first time with his right), the pass is dog shit, theres only so much 'sorting his feet out' he can do! hes fucked by the physics of the pass.

did you watch the video? im not sure how its even a debate lol, the kids had a bobbling pass given to his weaker foot, his left leg has to come out to his left to control the ball, you expect him to play a shit pass like that with his right foot first time....its nonsense. hes dealing with a 7 yard pass!!! he has no time to sort his feet lol. no player in the world is playing that with their right foot first time as the balls so bad into them that they cant!

Not only that, but it he lets it run across him to take it with his right, Soumare still nicks it

grays only chance with that pass is to actually cut inwards with the instep of his left foot so he goes the other way, but i doubt he knows he has someone steaming in on him anyway, that muppet in goal has fucked up, if hes going to play a pass to someone in that situation you better get the pass right!

TBH he was doomed the moment he showed for it.

Never, pass across the face of an open goal. I don't know how you make it to this level and be regularly as dumb as our keepers have been. Vic and Hugo are so similar in this

well be seeing plenty, plenty more of this from vicario. he doesnt have the technique or intelligence to play like this.

these sort of debates are interesting tho among football fans. the majority of fans see that and think its a gray fuck up, as thats what it looks like on the surface. its dangerous stuff, a donkey like vicario can give shit passes that put his team mates in trouble but fans dont see that as they dont understand how bad the pass is, they just see gray lose the ball.

whats worrying is that frank has come out right after the game and blamed gray too, this is meant to be a football person that examines football clips. carraghers video is spot on, glad he done it.

I would guess Vicario has known for a while he is going to be replaced.

Think about that possibility.

Puts a different context on the 'mistakes' and mutiny against the supporters.

I'd love to see how many goals are created from playing from the back, versus how many are conceded.

Someone mentioned it earlier in the thread & I'm sure Carragher mentioned it too but another big issue I have with this keeper is he seems to love getting camera time on the ball, every single game he'll take ages to play a pass when there are options on already but he'll wait and wait before making a rushed pass.

It might be seen as "baiting the press" but it's a nonsense when it very often leads to him making a rushed and poor pass cos he's not technically good enough, he usually makes those poor passes to someone like Bentancur who for all his real/imagined faults is technically secure enough to handle them and play the ball wide to a CB in that situation but what happened yesterday is just another example of him dawdling and playing the big man.

I don't think it helps matters that we are constantly putting ourselves in the position of Vicario having the ball at his feet, our entire gameplan seems to be underpinned by the mantra "if in doubt, work it back to the keeper".

The keeper is shit! We should be doing everything within our power to avoid sending it back to him! And yet 50% of the time, wherever they are, our players just turn backwards, desperate to get him on the ball, you'd think we had bloody Johan Cruyff between the sticks...

:frankfacepalm:

They're all petulant twerps, this whole gather together to walk off at halftime nonsense demonstrates that perfectly.

So focussed on coming up with a way to shelter themselves from the flack rather than knuckle down and avoid the flack altogether by actually putting in a performance on the pitch!

Absolute morons and sad to say they'd fit in just perfectly at Woolwich under that twat Arteta!
Yeah that action at half and full time is just nonsense and demonstrates the poor mentality.

100pc not Gray's fuck up. Gray did show a bit on inexperience perhaps, not scanning. But Vic had an option to his left, and could see the whole shit show in front of him, and then played a poor pass.

Trouble is we're incompetent at everything.

Fart around playing short passes and we inevitably shoot ourselves in the foot and give it away in the most dangerous possible position.

Lump it long and we simply cede possession to the opposition constantly, usually our forwards are nowhere near the destination but if they are then they lose the dual nigh on every time, leaving us under relentless pressure.

Play all out attack? Probably won't score, will definitely concede a minimum of 2.

Park the bus? Definitely won't score, will probably concede a minimum of 2, ironically actually probably more because of the chaotic reshuffle that happens after the second conceded without fail.

We are hexed, absolutely totally jinxed, there is no logical explanation for us being as trash as we are, change the manager, same results. Overhaul the playing staff, same results.

Yep. It WAS Archie’s mistake, but this sort of thing is a constant worry and had been for two and a half years. All from Vicario’s incompetence and if it’s not better by now, it won’t get better.

The trouble is, he IS our best keeper. Kinsky is probably only better at distributing the ball.
Maybe in Isolation you would think that, but look at the Fulham game, Vic has previous and Carragher explains it really well, he's giving it to Gray on his weaker foot , its the definition of a hospital pass.

It wouldn't be so bad if he just hoofed it, 90s style.

If there's a high press, kick it over their heads. It's hardly 4d chess

hes just an out and out donkey, his body language and shape is all wrong when the ball is at his feet. hes a 90s keeper, hed be ok if it was just shot stopping and blasting the ball as far away as possible. asking someone like him to actually play with actual technique is asking for trouble, which is why we keep getting into trouble!!

Our leadership group (lol) is a clusterfuck. Romero, Porro, Vicario aren't leaders and are setting a bad example. Some kind of mutiny would be needed and a new captain. Unfortunately we don't have the players for that.

Keepers fault - why the fuck didn't he play a simple pass to VDV? Its a terrible bobbling pass Gray had to take a touch with - yes he showed for the ball but Vic is the senior player who can see everything in front of him. Gray has obvs been told to show for these passes but the keeper should know not to do it in that situation.

Very much in favour or replacing Vicario now, we would do well to sell him back to Italy - I am sick of the sight of him and his stupid mistakes. Hugo was an amazing shot stopper too but a clown at times with his feet as well. Either play to his strengths or get a new keeper.
Putting it on a teenager as well and blaming everyone but himself AGAIN is becoming hateful as well.
