Cannot describe the pain - was told I'd never experience anything like it again in my life.

Was given as much morphine as they were allowed to, but it didn't do a thing to dull it, just shut me enough to move me from the house into the ambulance

Was there a "cause"? Ie: any particular reason it was herniated?

Very random - no particular reason -

was out at a party at the West Indian Centre in Leeds while there at uni - got a stomach ache went home - next thing I knew I woke up on the floor of my bathroom in more pain than I can describe - thank fuck my housemate was home and heard me collapse and called an ambulance

Well... that's a horrendous and terrifying story that will haunt me forever...

Don't think he'll get any recognition for his bravery in playing through the pain by the usual suspects.

Although maybe they'll surprise me.

There are blokes in the armed forces who try to force themselves to finish runs carrying packs while having a broken legs. Others with severe tendinitis who fight through it for weeks or months to pass out. All with ibuprofen. For 18 grand a year.

Always nice to put “bravery” in context when we’re talking 65 grand a week footballers fighting through a bit of pain with elite medical staff and painkillers.

And the award for "most ridiculous hyperbolic whatabouterry" of the year goes to: Deuterz Deuterz

If this were a British Army forum you'd have a point. But it's not. It's a Tottenham Hotspur forum - where its perfectly normal to note that a player has been battling a painful condition - that requires surgery - and continued playing through that pain for some time, and to think that's a rather good thing that should be applauded.

But thank you for proving my original point.

Fucking hell...

Can I applaud him when he’s not giving away an average of a goal a game and kicking it out 5 times a match?

Actually fuck you and your whining. There are British Army people on £18 grand with severe tendonitis who finish runs carrying packs while having a broken legs and only get Ibuprofen so keep your sob stories to yourself! 😡

;)

Did something being put in to context upset you?

What Vicario has done just really isn’t that brave. Normal people do much braver things all the time. You really don’t need to hero worship millionaire athletes online.

All he’s done is something most of them are doing all the time. A majority of top level athletes will play through injuries if needed. They’re insanely well compensated to do so.

It’s not “bravery” it’s just part of the business.

Ffs I wasn't nominating him for a Victoria Cross :roflmao:

I also said Xavi was brave for playing through the pain when his foot was black and blue. I know these things are common but it's still worthy of note on a football forum.

Also a hernia requiring surgery is a fucking nuts thing to play through as a keeper. Christ...
