Raya would have been a disaster

With his sense of positioning he'd likely miss it taking a pew and end up with legs akimbo.

Would have broken his arm in 3 places, twist his ankles and caught a severe case of man flu anyway.
If the rumored fee of £20m is true, I’d suggest that’s too low. But not hugely gutted to see him go.
Something negative would have happened. Next to no doubt.
I do wish to God posters stopped this retrospective sh!t.
Mistakes have been made. We know that, but honestly look at the likes of filth at present, Newcastle, and even United to an extent, who are simply going through a purple patch in my opinion.
We do need to find ourselves again, and that might be as a result of relegation, but even if we escape that fate, it's utterly apparent things need to change.
The crazy thing is that if you scoped this board for views prior to certain players signing, and went with the consensus view, we possibly would be in a better place, certainly if you base it on the views on prospective managers.
We are here now, and the only matters of relevance are what comes next, and the start must be the removal of Venkatesham and Lange, who like Frank are not the faces of fortune.
This btw is why I don't go in too hard on our players (like Solanke) and point the finger at them, it's just too coincidental that our players are either made of glass or they straight up haven't improved and some have stagnated, there's too much going on at this club just to isolate a single player and paint them in a bad light.
Can we have some good news about an Atleti transfer now please?!Proper leader from a member of our leadership group.
Get the fuck out and don't let the door hit you on the way out and take your leadership pals with you.
Fucking parasites
Fair.
I have said on Solanke my reasons. He was bought, so that's on us.
My reference is simply my thoughts on the player.
Our situatuon is a result of multiple factors.
More than likely that any player in his shoes would be suffering in s similar manor.
A few of these players like Vic are going to leave and perform to their normal level for their new clubs.
That's a possibility, but I think that is very much down to having a manager who creates and articulates the demand and expectation of this club to the players. I might say a bit like Carrick is doing at United. Nothing he is doing seems more than messaging, one or two personnel changes but maybe passing on the expectation of being a United player. I dunno.
What I also think is that some players are natural leaders, and that regardless of some of that layer of necessity you allude to, we don't have those on the pitch, although it might well be Gallagher for a season or 2, and without them, all teams struggle.
It's why Newcastle might go backwards, but filth in James and Caicedo, will probably be okay, despite their fcukwottery. And why that lot seem to bounce back, because they have leaders in abundance.
Culture matters massively.
I didn't want Raya for one very simple reason...so glad we went for the better option that was also cheaper , extroadinary stuff
