Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s a matter of things though, so it’s not just Kane. I’m anything but a Kane fanboy, even though he is by far one of our greatest premier league players of all time and him going hurts more than any player leaving. It’s the fact that ENIC and Levy have done so much damage to the fan base trust and the fact they never want to invest on the field properly, which is the reason why this has all come to a head. If you want to invest in Spurs that’s cool, but I won’t be investing in these pretenders in charge of our club anymore. Sick and tired of them.
That is entirely your right to do and I can't say they wouldn't deserve it 👍

It’s a matter of other things though, so it’s not just Kane. It’s the zero spend that ridiculous summer. Not properly backing pochettino. Charging rocket high ticket prices with nothing to show for it. Lowest net spenders every season. Super league fiasco. Etc etc I’m anything but a Kane fanboy, even though he is by far one of our greatest premier league players of all time and him going hurts more than any player leaving. Can't fault any of that. Not easy walking away though, and the bastards know it!

Haaland has only been at Dortmund for 1.5 seasons, so averaging 26 goals a season there.

He also is Champions League highest scorer this season, and was second highest last season despite most of those being scored with Salzburg.

Everything else being equal Haaland goes for way more money than Kane.

Very similar strike rate (Halland actually slightly better) in career, Haaland 7 years younger, so any suitor will have sell-on

Only thing Kane has which will inflate his price is a 3 year contract.

Absolute no-brainer that any club this summer that can afford Haaland or Kane would go for Haaland.
That is why I think Kane will still be with us against his will next season, we will price him out of a move
Oh yeah I agree.
But in a world where you could magically have Kane or Haaland, immediately for 1-2 seasons then they disappear, no money, age, re sale value - literally nothing to consider other than Kane or Haaland for a couple of season in the Premier League - who would you pick?

I would pick Kane in that unrealistic situation because I think he would be a safer bet for Premier League goals.

But if Haaland comes to the Premier League, stays in England for 7-10 years - I could see him beating Shearers record as this kid appears to have it all... though saying that I looked up his stats and apparently has only scored 2 headers for Dortmund, which seems low given he's 6ft 4.
Kane by contrast has 40 headed goals, 7 this season. I'm sure there are circumstances around that.

Unless there is a break clause make him stay another season Danny Boy like you did with Modrich!!

He could become a bad presence in the dressing room, and we don't know if he already isn't one. It's doesn't seem a very together team and maybe he's one of the bad influences. The only time he's looked really fired up recently was in the Carabao Cup final. He didn't really look bothered against Leeds in particular, despite what was at stake for the club.

Personally I don't think these Sky articles are anything other than clickbait and they then get regurgitated by other sources who all shout very loudly as they want the sensational story.

I'm not saying he isn't thinking about his future but I would be very disappointed in him if he did indeed start angling for a move and made it public through whatever channels before the season has ended.

He has always come across as a decent bloke who loves the club and will not want to piss off an entire fan base by doing things the wrong way.

Hence the current rumours are bullshit. If it happens, it happens but not in this way.

Interestingly Talksport who are usually full of shit sensational stories, started with this angle of Kane 'not wanting to ruin his reputation' and it 'didn't sound like the sort of thing he would do' at 6am this morning but then continued to peddle the 'he wants out rumour' because it gets listeners.

One thing I don't think Kane could ever become is a bad influence in the dressing room. If he is playing he wants to win, score goals and do his best. Its in his nature.

So what's the likelihood Kane is actually gone from Spurs?
I think he'll still a Spurs player next season albeit slightly reluctantly. Cant see a deal being done in the next 4 weeks. Dont get me wrong if he does go, ill doff my cap and say ' Thank you and good', but knowing Levy he'll delay and delay til after the Euros and hope England do well and H gets the golden boot just to stick a few more Mill on his price, just to price everyone out of the market. In a parallel universe, imagine we sell Kane to Citeh, get a top manager in use Kane cash to great effect, smash the league, FA cup, Europa cup and league cup, Citeh have a nightmare and finish mid table, 🤣🤣🤣. I know im delusional!!

It really is so bizarre. Kane is fantastic but in those biggest games he really has not been the man we needed.

As a player who will score you goals against somewhat lesser teams then he is hard to better but I feel in other games maybe he is not as potent.

That is not to say in a better team it woukd not be easier for him because there is less focus on him.

Either way and people need to absolutely see this. Kane leaving us has huge symbolic meaning at this particular stage.

He would represent the last of that glorious quintet, if we assume Son is not a leader and is possibly in decline.

Levy is going to be tested again but for me and for now it really is sorry but you are going to have to honour your contract unless we get an offer we really cannot refuse. And that should mean a near world record bid.

From the Athletic:

"Harry Kane is determined to end his 17-year association with Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and hopes chairman Daniel Levy will grant him the transfer he first wanted last year. But as much as Kane wants to leave — and multiple sources have told The Athletic he has been “desperate” to get out of the club for some time — he knows that the power is not in his hands."
Please.

That one has been done to death. It's bait. There's a video, everyone laughed, we moved on.

Harry Kane has set his sights on a move to #ManCity, believing the #PL champions are ready to follow up their interest with a bid. @ManCity are believed to have made 'discreet enquiries', but Daniel Levy is 'adamant' that he will not sell to them.

I think we can say with near certainty that Kane will not sign a new contract at Spurs, and really that's the biggest piece of news on his end. From there its all on the club to manage their relationship to him as an asset sensibly for the longer-term future of the club.
And if the is the case, we'd better strike now while he has the highest value.

I can't see how anyone doesn't recognize different possible responses here. Fair enough, you're not upset that he wants to go. Fine.

But I love Spurs. I loved Spurs before Kane came along, and I'll love them after. It'd be one thing if he was pushing for a move to Europe. But by all accounts, he wants to stay in the PL. Which is effectively saying: "I've given my all to trying to win with this club, but we weren't able to do it, so in the remaining years I have left, I want to give my all instead to a different club whose goal is (among other things) to ensure that my long-time club doesn't win." My view is: fuck that. Sorry.

And if someone gets tired of being a bridesmaid, fine. So they go off, to be a mercenary on a team of mercenaries, to hold up a trophy in front of fans who don't give a shit about you. That's one path. Another path is to stick with the club that's in your blood, in front of fans who worship you, who will build statues for you and sing your name, and if you don't win a trophy, there's a nobility to the effort the other mercenary path can never achieve. I admire that second path a hell of a lot more.
Trophies is the main barometer in football - for better or sorse

Imagine being as good as Kane and retiring having won fuck all - that’s criminal imv
