Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lol I've said he isn't doing good enough.

But still hes created the most big chances out of anyone
Imagine if you’re a winger who’s supposed to create chances for your striker. But your striker is the slowest player on the pitch getting physically dominate by average PL defenders and offing zero movement. I’d imagine it’d be challenging to get your ‘Big chances created’ numbers up.

Wait… maybe they can start looking for Romero, Dier, Skipp, PEH, Emerson, and Hugo because their job is to attack and score goals instead of defend.

Imagine what would happen if one of your attackers is leading the line and literally slugging around like a 45 year old MLS player. And this player is supposed to be leading the line and dictating play.

Oh wait…
Agree he looks out of sorts Kane like sonny have been overplayed possibly because they are both continuingly needed by club and their country.

If they don't produce noneelse does

Are you saying that if Kane passes a medical on a treadmill that means he’s mentally fit to play and can cope physically in a match?
They do lots of tests. The whole team bar the new incomers are wayward, not just Kane,

The fact that Skipp, Romero, Royal, stand out as being better than the majority... suggests they are sharper. Meaning they didn't slide from being managed by Jose who lets players manage their own fitness,.

You're blaming the poor football on Kane, it's not like Son or Moura are setting the PL on fire with their play.

Our wingers full backs midfield don't create enough for eachother it's a collective problem

My opinion with Kane and Son is they literally carried the team last season, then had international duties, then back to training (Kane late) and are basically fucked/tired this season.

Kane has ran himself into the ground for Spurs, a lot more admirable that the rest of the lazy khunts. likewise Son.

It’s nonsense
The whole team can be poor but if you don’t the odd one out in terms of sheer energy and desire then you’re in denial

Kanes gone - heart and soul, any denying the fact is simply denial... He spends zero time in the box and clearly hates playing for levy now. Conte Maureen even bring back poch it would not make a difference his head is totally gone.

Kane was still peaking at 28 as he became last season's EPL's top scorer with 23 (+14 assists). Yes, he's had a dip in form, true, which is normal after a big mid-summer tournament (Euros 2021).
But you also have players like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewandowski and Zlatan who are still top players even after their mid-30s
I think the concern is more that he looks slow and like he's turning in treacle. Missing shots, bad control, dodgy passes are all things linked to form and confidence. Not being able to move... not so much. It's a worry TBF

They do fitness tests with the coaches. The problem is the last two managers let the players slide.

They don't just say ''Eh 'arry you fit?''
I do wonder though how deep they go? Do they monitor lactate threshold and look at abaptation?

In recent years polarised training has become more of a thing. It has its place in many endurance sports but i'm not sure if football falls under the same umbrella. In short it's about working in zone 2/3 for 80-90% of the time, then the rest well over threshold. The idea is not to burn out but keep ticking over and pushing the top end so your body and muscles adapt in recovery mode.

I don't think it's just training. He's been phoning in appearances since the start of the season. For all of his big talk about the team needing leaders and Conte being the right man to match his ambition, yadayada, he needs to f*cking step up himself.

Anyone see the snide smirk on Hugo's face as he was talking to Harry after the Manure game?

I would imagine that any sport that's literally awash with money will be full of scientific analysis. Whether it's actually put to maximum effect is moot.

In endurance sports like road cycling it's a huge factor because marginal gains make a big difference to performance which translates to sponsorship.

In football it's more likely that VO2 max and LT numbers are all captured and analysed and then:

Sports Science Dept: "You're numbers are 15% down Harry"
HK: " I can walk can't I?"
Sport Science Dept: "Good to go"

Is that a riddle?

I'd like another good striker but we don't have one.
Go and watch 2-3 minutes of any random 5 games this season and tell me there isn’t a very obvious difference in how the other 9 outfield players move compared to Kane

This is every single game. It baffles me that some can’t see this, or thinks it doesn’t matter “because Moura is average”

At least Moura moves

I don't know how deep they go but I imagine it's more technical than simply asking players if they are fit or doing a test on a treadmill.

“In terms of the style of play, the way they’d set up and the different tactical training we would do. With Mauricio, we did a lot of gym-based work whereas Jose wasn’t as much into that.''

Not sure if I care how much he moves. The goal he set up for Lucas against Vitesse is a perfect example. He just isn't going to run in behind to create space and "running around a bit" will only go so far as Lucas demonstrates a bit too often.

That said, if you're talking about application, we agree. He's been a liability since the start of the season but I think the slate is clean now we have a manager that "matches his ambitions" whatever the fuck that means. Time to step up.

I'm not happy with the form of many of the players, but lets face it, our whole attack is shit, no shots on target for ages, yeah Kane is included but it's a team thing.

You seem to want to blame Kane for the entire demise. if not for Kane we'd have been bottom half of the table last season. IE about as good as we are now, you can't expect the same player to keep bailing us out year after year without getting exhausted.

Well that’s kind of key to his demise so we should all care.
The Vitesse assist is one example all season
True enough but the slate is clean now. He now has the boss he wanted so there's no more excuses for him. A lot of his form is down to wanting Nuno out because a) he was sulking after his big move didn't happen and b) he didn't think the NES appointment gave him anything so he downed tools knowing he would always start.

Dangerously close to Judas territory.
