I doubt it’s quite as “dramatic” as the betting market wants it to be. A flood of bets on Chelsea / United of city take away the odds from his staying, which is likely where money was being placed.
Eriksen went on TV and said he was off, he went when it suited Levy. This will be the same if it’s true.
The timing of this does not ring right though 48 hours before a home game with fans, with his mate as a manager and less than a week before the season ends is not likely to be when he is bowling into Levy to say see ya.

I didn't say it would be a striker though - I just think he'd try to overcompensate and attempt to project 'ambition' but it'd ultimately be a flawed move when what we really need is an excellent scouting team who would have already drawn up a list of £20-40m young players.

ENIC are in no hole at all, don’t believe that. Their parent company is loaded and their property assets have only gone one way this past 12 months and that is up. The reality is that they choose not to invest into the football side, using only money we generate from sales to buy players.

I don't know whether this could be counted as a 'silver lining', but whoever the new manager is wouldn't have the rug pulled from under him a year in like with AVB and the Bale sale. The new guy would actually be getting a load of young potential and trying to morph them into a cohesive squad from day one.
