Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Truth be told, had this come out after the Leeds defeat, the end of Champions League hopes - it would have more credibility.

The way it came out on a Monday evening having taken top 6 out of West Hams control the night before makes me think it's an attempt to unsettle us for the remaining 2 games.

You don't get much more professional than Kane really, and take his word when he says he will look at the situation after the Euros.

Chelsea finished 10th a few years back, brought in Kante, Alonso & Luis then went on to win the league.
I actually think Levy will be prepared to throw a good chuck of cash at this coming transfer window in an attempt to convince Kane, the squad and the fans that we do have serious ambitions.
It's just the small matter of bringing in the right personnel.

I love your optimism, i really do,but...

I think we now know that Kane wanted to leave last summer but was convinced to stay one more year, probably by Mourinho. Obviously a club has contacted his agents and given them a figure. That figure is probably quite high. It also seems like Levy would honour Kane's wishes but that is just a feeling on my part.
I also don't think he is going for £150 million. I think it is more like £100-120 million.

lets hope we don't buy a hatful of crap like when we sold Bale
Sadly it’s hard to be too optimistic about that.
Most people know what we need , I’d do swaps plus ££ for Harry & fill key areas . We’ll probably go with a named player to calm the anger of fans & potent prospects . Names will fly around , things will get nearly done & the window will close . Been here so many times

There is no chunk of cash to throw at anything. It's clear the club is in serious financial trouble because of covid and we are in no position to bring in the calibre of players that is going to lift us into a title challenging position which is where Harry wants to be.

Dan Kilpatrick now saying that Kane believed he had a gentlemans agreement with Levy from last summer about giving us 1 more season. If thats the case then if we recieve £150m then i think we should sell, preferably abroad. You can't have your top player going through a season with the massive hump because the chairman has welched on an agreement.

On a 3 year deal, no chance. It’s a stupid fee close to the world record or nothing, £100-120m is next year when he has 2 years left. This is Levy.

Would actually be funny if Kane joins Utd and becomes their primary PK taker, Bruno Pennandes will be pissed off someone took away all his 20 goals/seasons he will hand in a transfer request :dembelelol: :dembelelol:

Did he actually make a statement saying that he would look at the situation after the euros

£100m spent last season
£133m the season before

£233m on players coming in, £70m on players being sold.
£164m net spend over the 2 seasons since moving to the new stadium.

Though I would expect transfer budgets in the modern game to be planned over a 5~ year period. Most player transfers seem to have the finances spread over several years, as are sponsorships and financial plans.

The evidence suggests over a longer period of time our transfer and wage expenditure is increasing in line with the clubs growth off the field.

Though I fully get the scepticism.

I think we've been very fortunate have 6 years of peak Harry, it's just unfortunate we haven't had the on field success during this time. At some point in the next few years we would have had to replace Harry anyway, no player can play forever so that time has simply come a little sooner than we would have wanted.

If I had to guess, it seems anything could happen... it could all be rubbish and rumours from Sky... Not even sure about that yet. But given how much he would cost and the fact he's on a three year deal still, it may not even work out if it's true. Maybe the deal will be too rich to actually happen. We're now dangling on the end of two lines... who's the next manager? And is this true about Kane? .... three.... If he goes, will everybody else follow?
I'd like it to be then end of the season, so we can at least see who the next manager is... then maybe we might get some answers... we're all dangling a bit at the moment...

My guess is that there will be a total-value number that is very high--150m or so--but that total value will be reached by a smaller cash outlay plus players. I'm guessing Ake is the easy inclusion--he hasn't seemed to click at City, Stones is nailed-on now, and we need a multi-player makeover at the back--and maybe Jesus or Cancelo.
