Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Us fans have got to get behind him now.
If he does well on the pitch it benefits us.

He has to build bridges too though
As shown on here, many Spurs fans have lots of hate & disdain for Kane. It will be interesting how things pan out. Hating our best player is awkward & unusual position to be in.
I hope he keeps banging them in for us.

Statement strike's as a move to save face with the public and media.

The consensus view seemed to be « Kane is going about it the wrong way », now he's released the statement, I wouldn't be surprised to see it turn into « Bad Spurs/Levy is not letting Harry get his dream move ».

I hope i'm wrong, but we'll know his true intentions soon enough.

I think if he had pulled off a much more competent statement, than you might be right.

I'm not sure this one is going to cut it.

What a load of bollocks. Why wait until now if that was the case?

He's realised it's time for damage limitation since he might not get his move. If he doesn't want to be here I don't want him here. Get rid and let's build the team around people that want to play for us.
We cant just get rid. City are not paying enough.

Romero, Tomiyasu and and CB and we should be in much better shape at the back.
Skipp and Gil to contribute plenty.
If we can add another attacker or two (Damsgaard + Vlahovic) and Kane gets on with it we'll be in good shape.

It's fine to be annoyed at what Kane's done but lets not forget he was PL top goalscorer and assists last season. That is nigh on impossible for us to replicate. 150m would be a good starting point but we shouldn't sell for less.

Clearly bollocks. The club and Kane would have shot this down Monday if it was agreed. I think its partly damage limitation and partly looking at how well Grealish and his team handled his move and thinking he is going to look like the villain of the piece even if he gets his move. I still think he'll go, not going to be easy in the dressing room for him.

There's a considerable difference between Romero from Atalanta and Laporte from City. There's lot of good players out there we can realistically sign.
I think it’s where they are coming from too. We are a bigger richer team than Atalanta. Where as Laporte would be going to poorer team who don’t do trophies. & he is used to winning lots. Maybe have to take a pay cut too.

He obviously still wants to go but just can’t see city going anywhere near us high as what we value him at. So I think he will stay.

Not fond of the tone of comment about him tbh. Great player who's been in a crap team for two years and wanted out to maximise his peak years. Made the mistake years ago of trusting his fool brother to manage his career. As result acted poorly in trying to agitate the transfer.

I don't really have any negative feeling for him, he's provided me with entertainment and joy for 6/7 years now. People act below themselves at times, I certainly do, and high stakes can bring out uncharacteristic behaviour and poor decisions. His mistakes are glaring and harshly judged because they happen so publicly and in an industry about which people feel passionately. If he stays, great, he's a wonderful footballer. If he goes, fine, we'll have lots of money to buy new ones.

Atalanta aren't a bigger club than we are, and no doubt we're also offering him better wages. We will still be an attractive enough proposition for most players considering we're a London based club, have a wonderful stadium and a good history. But some of the names people have been dropping here over these last few weeks we stand next to no chance of signing. The top players, the likes of Martinez and Laporte, they obviously won't want to to not be playing Champions League football. And these kind of players aren't simpletons. One quick look at our current squad on Google and they'll be shaking their heads and thinking "Fuck that", even more so if Kane goes.

One of the best and most sensible posts I've seen here among a lot of toxic shit in a long time.

HARRY’s STATEMENT DISECTED!

All you posters that have been slagging Harry Kane off this last few days have been thoroughly put in your place today.

“Plastic- feel good factor fans” is my perception.

Harry won’t ever say it but I fucking will!

:tobyarm:Go on Harry!

Don't move the goalposts.

The claim was no quality players would sign for us, one just has.

No one knows how Laporte views Spurs. No one knows what the plan is should Kane get his move and we have money to get in additional quality.

Who he's currently with is irrelevant if he's benched for months on end and wants to play regularly, especially when all those clubs some on here are touting as his preferred destination (Barca, RM etc) don't have a pot to piss in.

It's certainly more feasible than the self deprecating "he won't want to come to us because we're shit" line being pedalled on here.

I've not once said that we are shit. We're currently an above average team, one who's best player will possibly leave.

But feel free to carry on daydreaming about us signing Laporte. Hope you enjoy it.

He wrote that statement himself whilst wearing a pair of Mickey Mouse ears.

We've been fine without him in the past and we'd be fine without him going forward. If City offered 130-140m i'd take it and move on. What's the point in holding onto him for another year while we finish mid-table? It's revolution not evolution needed, the squads pony mate.

Top scorer and top assists is all well and good but we still had a shite season and played dog shit football. The team needs overhauling, so far we haven't scratched the surface.
