Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What I’d like to know is, if your house was on fire would you sit around for 5 days to see how much damage it does before you try and put it out. Or do you get the fire extinguisher out immediately and spray the living shit out of it?

He could see what the media were saying on Monday. Why not come out with a statement straight away saying “BULLSHIT. I’m not supposed to be coming back until next week. These are lies.”

Questionable.

Lots of hate in this thread.

Have to say, I've been dissapointed with what the reports of his actions have been but that's it - dissapointment.

Just a feeling of sadness rather than hate or ill will towards anyone.

We all make cock ups and I'd hate to think that one single period in my life defined me forever.

I'll get stick for this but if he goes, he goes.

If he stays then as long as he gives 100 percent on the pitch then I'll be cheering him on.

Life's too short.

There seems to be a fair bit of pond life here.

Not fond of the tone of comment about him tbh. Great player who's been in a crap team for two years and wanted out to maximise his peak years. Made the mistake years ago of trusting his fool brother to manage his career. As result acted poorly in trying to agitate the transfer.

I don't really have any negative feeling for him, he's provided me with entertainment and joy for 6/7 years now. People act below themselves at times, I certainly do, and high stakes can bring out uncharacteristic behaviour and poor decisions. His mistakes are glaring and harshly judged because they happen so publicly and in an industry about which people feel passionately. If he stays, great, he's a wonderful footballer. If he goes, fine, we'll have lots of money to buy new ones.

Sorry but no. He’s acted like a cunt and he deserves the comments.

Most of us would have understood his desire to leave and if he’d gone about it correctly. He decided to be a prick though. Fuck him. End of.

I don’t have sympathy for people willingly displaying such unprofessional behaviour, and that’s that.

Spurs will still be here long after that melt has pissed off.

If he stays and does the business, fine, but I’ll never chant his name again.

The problem isn’t fans thinking we’re poor, it’s players and agents thinking we’re poor.

No one believes Levy is ever going to resource this operation in a way that makes it meaningfully competitive for major honors. That perception begets reality. Changing it would take a lot of time and money, it’s not happening by 31 August.
So wait two years ago we are an actual performance from being champions of Europe now everyone thinks we are useless. Mate that's utter sky filtered drivel. If we make financially rewarding deals with players and Nuno simply states we are going to be competing at the very top get on board players WILL come.

Like a lot of people in England some really over estimate the reach of Sky and the terrestrial broadcasters. I live part of the year in Milan and New York. Our profile as a global club has never been higher. Some advice to a few of the pessimists the club is doing OK. We are a good coach and four or five players from competing properly. Lets hope its under Nuno. I'm sure glad some of you didn't have to bare the Nethercote years....😔

Because he clearly thought he could force Levy to sell him by not showing up to train. He thought everybody would be on his side and everybody would hate Levy. Now he’s backtracking like a bitch and making up lies.

Seriously; this is all too much....

Every few days you end up apologising for some form of angry-man outburst or another; but now you're preaching love and humility whilst simultaneously calling people pond-life (and have no doubt cunted off swathes of players over time)?

Have a word with yourself, mate.

It's one thing to moan and rant. But the way some people have acted and spoke of Kane suddenly is embarrassing. I suggest you hit the ignore button because you seem to respond to an awful lot of my posts complaining and whining. So basically, fuck right off.

People in this thread are so soft. Kane spit in your face and you’re preaching “oh well everybody makes mistakes.” Dumb. :nunofacepalm:

He's done what we all have done in life at some point, which is to put himself first. After so many years of great service I think he's more than entitled to do that all things considered.

Has the gall to question supporters now.

You and your idiot brother have been caught with your pants down and are now trying to damage control it. It's not about us not having faith in you, it's about what YOU did.
It's one of the things I really didn't like about his message, if he's looking to gain favour he should have acknowledged/understood how the fans feel when hearing what's been reported. If he recognises this, understands and sympathised with this he can at least attempt to communicate what it is that he wants to say. He's basically communicating how hurt he is, if he had an ounce of sense right now no one gives two fucks about how he's feeling following the actions of him not turning up to train.

I agree.

That contract he signed was way back when we were actually good and Poch was still at the helm. Since then we've gone backwards and he's seen former teammates win trophies in the meantime and you just know every England get together, his lack of success at Spurs is used as a bit of 'banter'.

We've actually run him into the ground with the lack of a replacement and hardly any squad rotation. Same with some of our other top players. He knows this is his last chance to move to a bigger/richer club and is determined to take it.

I'd rather he stayed but it does seem as if the Poch team has finally come to an end and he thinks the same way.

£130m would be a good price for a 28 year-old forward that's actually given his best years to us. It'll hurt to see him wearing another club's shirt but we've lost big players before and will do so in the future.

I certainly won't be wishing him every success but neither will I hate him. If you want to blame anyone then blame our dickhead owners. They're the ones that have let us down, not Harry Kane.

We've also seen the club publicly address things on an ad hoc basis numerous times when needed to clear up any confusion, especially when players aren't in training or games. If there truly was some misunderstanding or he was authorized to not be at practice for whatever reason, the club wouldn't have let it fester for days and I don't think Kane would have as well.

They had no explanation other than the truth, so the best option was stay silent about it since they weren't going to lie and cover for him. For me, their silence is the most damning part about this. He was supposed to be there and they chose to keep it internal.
