Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Son is hardly setting the world on fire right now with goalscoring form or anything. Scored a decent one vs city and then a flukey freekick that went in. Thats it. But everyone is patient with him because hes been better than kane.

Indeed.... You'd think he was smashing them in like Salah atm the way one or two are carrying on.

He's been involved in 5 of our 7 PL goals if I'm not mistaken. I'm pretty sure we'd be near relegation territory without him thus far.
We'd get 1 point from city.

Even Winks can score a fluke from an even further range. So you cant stay we got 3 points because of Son vs Watford. That was just luck. A winger that had played instead of him could have done a fluke too.

Another winger instead of son might have done similarly as him. Hes been okay, much much better than Kane , but like i said, hardly setting the world on fire.

I don't know because I've never seen much of anyone take free kicks other than the golden boy. I'm sure someone could do better than 1 of 1000?

Maybe. Perhaps he's the only one who scores any consistently in training. Do any of our other players take them for their country? Any real evidence at all that any of them have any kind of decent technique?

I honestly think if any of our players started banging them in during training, they'd be on them in games.

The final decision is ALWAYS up to the coach. He probably was desperate to play, but if at any point Pochettino thought he wasn't ready, then as the manager he makes the decision.

I'm not gonna blame a player for wanting to play in one of the biggest games in world football. In that scenario it's up to his manager to make a decision for the best of the team and for the players own good.

The only way it would be Kane's fault is if he bullied Pochettino or used his influence in the squad against him. But I highly doubt that is the case, instead its more likely a manager with a close relationship to the player who rated him very highly, decided to take a risk. And it didn't work out.
It’s a bit of both

Kane probably did bully him

He probably did have a negative influence with the squad like he died now but you’re right !
At the end of the day it was Poch’s decision and a strong resolute manager wouldn’t have started Kane no matter what reassurances he gave him

Poch isn’t strong
He isn’t a winner and never will be
Even with PSG he struggles

The sooner we get rid of the rotten apple the better!

As for having Poch back ?
I don’t know your position on this but I’ve made mine quite clear

I don’t think that they would

What Harry wants he gets no matter how often he shits on us

He certainly could, but it would probably require another player stepping up to the plate and showing he's good at them. I can only assume if someone was banging them in during training, they'd be given the taker duty.

Ronaldo takes every FK for every team he plays for, despite statistically sucking at them. He even took them off Dybala at Juve, who is genuinely great at them. So an egotistical goal hungry forward taking every opportunity they can to score isn't unheard of.

Right now I dunno who else would be better for us. The other taker always seems to be Dier because he smashed one in for England once. When we lost Eriksen and Trippier, our set piece taking abilities plummeted.
I would like to see a 30 yard Sanchez toe punt

Think my view has been made pretty clear on this one .. Poch developed a great relationship with Kane, and perhaps that relationship clouded his judgement, and he made a bad call. I don't think there's any need for analysis beyond that.

It's not the Poch thread so I won't go in to detail, but I don't want him back (that ship has sailed, we need to move on) but still view him in a positive light as someone who did great things for the club. I didn't think PSG was the right move for him, and he's yet to prove me wrong. But I wish him the absolute best, and will always remember as a Spurs manager fondly.
