Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I do agree that we need another striker. But I think for Kane to be at his best he needs a player like Eriksen in the MF who can create space and put in a good pass when he is near the box.

Ndombele has shown glimpses of it but is way too inconsistent, Lo Celso and Dele has been disappointing and guys like Skipp and Hojberg lack creativity in our MF.

I agree, we've never replaced what Eriksen brings.

When was he last good this season?

And I mean really good not just okay.

Probably not, but we can talk all day about the reasons why. When you're the top scorer and top assister in the league the previous season, have a great international tournament over the summer and score at will in qualifiers, you're clearly not shit.

We've just got to find a way to get him back to his best in our shirt.

Oh, I don't think he's shit at all, and I sincerely hope Conte can 'unlock' him.

I just fear he's been poor for a decent run of games now, and I think we should balance our desire for wanting the Kane of old back with also accepting that it's OK to take him off.

Signing a new striker would be a good investment and give Kane some competition to fire him up.

I thought he was alright: I think it’s more that he now has other players supporting him and get into the box that he’s struggling with. If every pass forward goes to you (as it did with Jose), then it’s easier to get the touches. Now, tho, there are better options flooding into the box so he has to compete for the strike.

His hold up okay was decent in the first half and a good pass for Sonny.
100%

We're moving away from Harry Kane ball and he's now once of the pieces, not the centerpiece. Player's aren't just looking for him anymore and we're better off because of it. Looks like our mission on attack has changed from "look for Kane in and around the box" to "look for the open player."

I'd have to say that going forward, under Conte, Son is going to be the man getting the most chances/opportunities given his pace/movement and runs. He better be ready to step up and put his shooting boots on.

That's entirely fair, and I don't disagree.

This is about as best as I can do to intellectually contribute right now to this debate about his performances this season compared to last...

He's gone from a consistent 8.6 to a 6.4 per game.

He literally put son on a plate to score and he fucked up and your all having another got at him.....I get it when he doesn't score and others play better around him, but when others fuck up chances he creates then don't go straight to this thread to have another go at just him ffs

Ehh... one pass that didn't lead to an assist doesn't really get talked about that much.

See below. Lucas, Dier etc. have all put it on a plate for Kane this season but they're generally taking it up the a$$ every game. No one ever talks about their passes that didn't end up as assists.

He's missed plenty of sitters this season.

One, via Igula Igula 's favorite player, who put it on a sliver platter for Kane a week or so ago.

Then against Brentford from an exquisite pass from Skipp

Then via a perfect pass from Dier against Woolwich

Need more Igula Igula ?

Every touch was painful, he’s a world away from 3 years ago in his all round play (goals aside). Still captain of my FPL team but I’m starting to worry personally

Every player has their detractors and I believe I've seen enough to know that's certainly true for Lucas and Dier in the past before Conte took over. I like both of them and they get their fair share of criticism. Overall I think the criticisms are fairly evenly distributed but in Kane's case he's getting it more due to his antics in the summer and a big drop in performance this season. So yeah I wouldn't think too much of it it's just due to circumstances.

Thought he was generally fine again without standing out, and obviously scoring. We've flogged him year after year and we're desperate for another decent forward, someone who can partner him or replace him in games like this to give him a break. He's clearly no longer the machine he was. The ability is still there, just not the confidence that goals bring at the moment.

The ability is still there yes. However, I have not been thinking of Kane a player that can lose confidence easily over a goal drought 15 games in. It's just not clicking for him at the moment but regardless when the goals come or not don't think it's related to his confidence at all.
