Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Bale didn't have the benefit of being the striker. Remember the kind of goals he scored? Not nearly as many easy goals as Kane has scored.

Same with his role at Real where the striker got most of the goals.

You are right. But when Kane is constantly being shit on, said he's crap etc when he's done better in recent years than Bale ever did, it just shows how stupid people are.

That one, solitary worldie season Bale just did what the fuck he wanted. So he was everything on that front line. He scored 21 goals. Kane beat that last season and set up 14 goals for team mates. But he's shit.

People struggle to differentiate between a Bale who scores 25 yard wonder goals and a Kane, who's talent is in being in the right place and an ability to find the net in packed boxes.
Unfortunately, the Kane talent isn't box office. You'll see 10 angles of Bale smashing one in against West Ham in the last minute. But you won't see Kane angling a run to stay onside, or move 5 yards to free up space to shoot leaving a defender stranded. It's clever, it's rare, but it's not immediately obvious to 16 year old fanbois why it's so fucking effective.

One wonders if Kane reads Lukaku's comments with any interest?

That is that he turned down a move to City in the summer. The question if true is whether any bid came before or after they bid for Kane and how much they valued his services for.

What Lukaku didn't do is place a value on his own head.

Summer 2020. A year before Kane made any noise about wanting to leave,

Thought he was our best forward today despite him missing a chance he should have scored. We just need to find ways of getting him involved more. But his hold up play is far better than it was only some weeks back, and the effort can't be questioned any longer.

We need a player like Vlahovic, a big strong striker that can play with his back to the goal

Due to Kane's declining physicality, he's turning into a striker that solely relies to through balls and shots outside the box

We really need a striker that can own the box

Kane took himself up to 50 shots to get 4 goals this season after yesterday’s efforts.

Some good efforts mind, but if your not going to fill your boots and win games against Watford and Southampton, we are desperately going to need a striker who can slot in seamlessly and hit the ground running.

If Kane 2.0 and his all round game comes at the expense of goals, then what is the actual point? Might as well just sign a creative mid.

He’s literally on course for 8 goals from 100 shots.
If that game finished 0-0, people might start to understand shot to goal ratio and why it matters.

Pretty obvious that Conte is going in hard with the wing play, and stretching teams.

It’s also pretty obvious Kane offers little when it comes to crosses and dominating defenders so for this system he is becoming more and more redundant as a striker.

Need an absolute bully in the Zlatan/Haaland mould.

We’ve had 52 shots in the last 3 games, and scored 3 goals from open play. As a team, not good enough, as Conte says.

A net zero transfer involving Kane and Vlahovic would be acceptable to everyone at this point. Levy must be cursing the day when he turned down 100mil for kane from city,

Yeah but the fans are happy we didn't accept a penny less than our valuation. Won the "we're not a selling club" trophy 2021.
If he had gone for what City reportedly offered initially there would have been outrage.

Fans were outaged when Walker went, and that was more or less a good deal. Bale, Modric, Carrcik, Berbatov etc - we were a selling club. Then we stopped. Now we should have sold arguably our best player, on the back of one of his best seasons for less than his market value?

I don't understand some of our "fans".

If he went for what City offered, we'd have gone and got this Vlahavic chap for less, and had a younger striker, that wanted to be here and some cash.
I don't care what the average daily fail reading OAP fan thinks, were in a position where our focal point ha 4 league goals and the player we earmarked to replace him is rapidly becoming (tbh, already is) unobtainable.

Well done for not negotiating Daniel. The fans are proud.

He was already unavailable realistically and you are looking at this with a specific mindset. And assuming that he'd adjust to the Premier League no trouble.

Kane has struggled because he didn't care initially, had no pre-season and the team was struggling to create. He could and should have had a hat-trick against Liverpool, was robbed of a goal against Southampton and was so close yesterday.

His return this season is poor but I've seen enough in the last five games to have confidence he's going to finish the season comfortably 15-20 league goals.

I don't disagree that we need to address the issue imminently - he's got 2-4 years left at the top level at best. But keeping him, trying to win whilst blooding a replacement alongside him is the better option.

It’s not difficult to understand unless you still think there’s no strikers in Europe that could have done a better job than Kane this season.

Pretty sure we could have got 120M for him……

…..but we stupidly valued him at 150M

120M and we could have improved a couple of positions.
No need to write “fans” with speech marks, because it’s the fans that want what best for the club.

This isn’t hindsight

There was no credible offerfrom City beyond the initial reported amount and their own tapping up in press conferences indicated that we weren't even willing to listen to them. I wouldn't either. They weren't serious. They just sold a fucking striker, whilst bemoaning not having strikers. They didn't really want him or he'd be there.

If "fans" want what's best for the team, maybe get behind the team and stop crying and constantly slating a striker who didn't leave.

Let me ask you this:
Will you be happy if we don’t improve the team? And keep this squad next season?

I’m guessing no

Are you therefore not behind the team?
Kane has 4 goals and 1 assist in 18 games, trust me, he’s not being slated for his interview

Honestly lol fuck this thread and this forum sometimes.

Honestly man don’t bother. Still talking about shot to goal ratio in a game Kane had 0.26 xG and his only shots were speculative punts from outside the box because we couldn’t get it to him inside the area to save our lives.

Maybe he should’ve done what everyone else did and pass it sideways harmlessly rather than actually testing the keeper with a shot. That would be better for his ratio. Maybe we could cross it to him in a good position or get it to his feet inside the box once or twice?

Just a thought.

Has looked better the last few weeks. Put in somebody that can consistently get their head up in the final 3rd and find his feet and we'd see him banging them in for fun again.

He's at least finding himself in the right positions the last few games, I just think that creative midfielder we're lacking is a massive hinderance.
