Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Augsburg defended fantastically. Bayern had one half chance in the first half and it took two penalties, one for handball and the other for tripping Kane near the goal line to win them the game. Bayern didn’t look like scoring until Kane won them both penalties. The goals were scored in the 63rd, 93rd and 95th minute.
It was a joke that clearly didn’t land . If you look at my posts about Kane , I’m a huge admirer of him as a player and think he seems a decent bloke

At 30 Messi wasn't relegated to playing in the BuLi...if he were he would have scored 10/game...And it included 2 pens and he played the full 90+ in a 3-0...some perspective please.

Walking football...
Yeah no shit, messi is the best player ever and Kane isn't anywhere near, not sure how you read my post as a comparison of the two players' abilities.

Part of his problem is that for a while he's been as good a number 10 as he is a 9. So when he stays up top and doesn't drop deep, you feel like his all round ability is being wasted a bit. He's too good a footballer to stand as close to the penalty area as possible all game. But then when he does drop deep, people will also be asking why he's not the furthest player forward and the focal point in the team. For him it must seen like a lose-lose situation at times as he'll get criticised regardless of what he does.

Personally I think we're at that point where he shouldn't be starting every game for England. Watkins and Solanke occupy defenders considerably more with their running power which in turn creates space for other players, your Bellingham's and Palmer's etc.
I would start Kane every game, with runners off of him. Missed the last Greece game but those I've seen no replacement have managed to knock him out.

On form Watkins's shouldn't be spoken about even villa fans are talking about dropping him.

I watched the match as well, he was completely starved of service in the first half and the second wasn’t much better either. M’bappe has the same issue at Real Madrid, neither Vinicius, Rodrigo or Bellingham like to pass him the ball as they’re always trying to walk through the defence and score themselves. You also see it at times with Haaland, a reluctance to pass to him. Having what looks like 11 fantastic players on the team sheet isn’t necessarily a good thing if they don’t play as a team. Albeit opposite ends of the scale, we’ve seen it over the years with the likes of Chelsea and Utd - very good individuals but shocking as a team.
Was so much worse for him last season and still managed to score a shit load.

Bloke is a machine, so how he fails on the very biggest moments is hard to fathom.

It could still happen though is my gut feeling. Maybe one more chance for club or country.

I don't see winning the Bundesliga as vindication of moving before it's said.

No probs - I didn’t take it as you dissing Kane. I was just highlighting that despite Kane now playing for a better side, it’s still not a walk in the park to score goals in Germany

Imagine how many more he would score if, like Lewandowski, he had Robben and Ribery providing him, and also a Muller that wasn't half washed. Don't get me wrong, the likes of Sane, Coman, Gnabry and Musiala are great players, but they're not elite like the above mentioned. Musiala may get there, but the other three aren't the same quality.

But it is. He will have a league title. He wouldn’t if he stayed.
Surely it would be Kompany and Olise's influence? HK came last season and they lost it for the first time in 9 years was it? Kompany has trimmed the fat and attacked with Olise pulling the strings and now things are hunky dory.

In the world of sport's causality I can't imagine how anyone can say it's the constant influence (that which was there last season AND this season...with similar performances) that has made the change instead of the changed aspect (new this year). That stretches credulity!

Bayern Munich finished on more points last season than the season before that.

The reason they lost the league was because Leverkusen had a perfect season. Their levels have dropped back down to normality this season. Bayern win the league last year in pretty much any other Bundesliga season. They did better in Europe (inches from progressing past Madrid) but Kane was unfortunate Leverkusen had a once in a century season. Kane was utterly exceptional, Bayern fans seem to mostly adore him.

Bayern are a much better team with Harry Kane in it.

S2S points are not comparable...it's a fools errand...oops, proceed.

Nothing in here is germane. The relevant facts are they lost last season with HK performing at X-level. This season HK is also performing at X-level but they are winning and the big change is that Company and Olise have been added to the group...HK's performance hasn't changed, right? He's not scoring 75 goals this season is he? So it's safe to assume his performance is not determinative. And it's NINE years we are talking about, man...outside influences matter very little in this evaluation as well.

...a fact that was true LAST YEAR (when they lost) and remains true THIS YEAR (where it looks like they will win in spite of it)!
