Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yep. He was amazing for us. I’ve never understood the hate or people not rating him. I just put it down to jealousy from other fans. But when you see it from actual apparent Spurs fans it is quite amazing. Says more about them and their understanding of the game. He’s one of the best finishers and footballers England has ever produced. That can not be argued.

Bayern fans now understand it well.

I can probably come off as a bit snippy in regards to Kane at Bayern. But it is never meant as to denegrate his achievements there.

I'm just not going to celebrate his success there as if it was for us. Which is the other extreme end of the spectrum or Kane post Spurs. There are sections of Spurs/Kane fans that expect us as a fanbase to celebrate his wins with Bayern like if it was with us.

That's ridiculous thank fvck we don't have any of those on here

I won’t be celebrating his trophies , but I am pleased for him . I don’t believe that is a contradictory position to take

Great post.

The Bundesliga is a nothing league by comparison to the PL.

But Kane and winning something at Spurs, and breaking the PL goals-record, which would be stupendous and nearly unbreakable, would cement his position.

Sorry, but scoring goals for an all-conquering Bayern, and banging in goals against minnow nations is not as sensational as some want to make out.

Celebrate his success at another club - fcuk that.

I do think he comes back to the PL after the World Cup next summer. His options are limited - he wouldn’t play for Woolwich or Chelsea, Liverpool have two superstar forwards, City have Haaland.

Imperative we get CL football…

He might come back.

Players do anything, so don't discount what Kane may or may not do if he returns to the PL.

And he will be 33/34 by then.

Lets not make out as though he can play effectively for another 5 years. That's a dreamland.

Lewandowski is still scoring in the CL
and La Liga at 37 so don’t count anything out.

He will not sign for Woolwich or Chelsea. I’m as cynical at anyone, but I have no doubt about that. Harry is ruthless enough to leave us for his career, but he’s not a total wanker.

I understand that Michael Owen's career was cut short due to injury - but he himself said that he wanted to retire earlier as he HATED playing football for, don't quote me on this as it's been a YEARS since I've listened to anything he's said, I think he said for the last 6/7years so that would place him at the end of his Real Madrid stint...that also included playing for England!

Harry Kane isn't just a better footballer, unlike Owen, he's been able to adapt to age & injuries while keeping a consistent level of performances.

I think Owen's history is kind of glazed over with rose tinted glasses 'oooh he was a sensation!' yeah I guess but with Liverpool he wasn't as good as Fowler, for Real Madrid he wasn't as good as R9, for Newcastle he wasn't as good as Shearer & with Man U he wasn't as good as Berbatov or Rooney...

I honestly think he should fukk off & keep to selling shite to the general public during world cup seasons in crappy adverts & being embarrassed by his daughter who oddly facially looks EXACTLY like him but hey I guess that's what paper bags are for eh?
Never got 20 PL goals in a season . Kane averaged 23 over 9 seasons.

Comes back next season and replaces Chris Wood at Forest. He won’t go anywhere to be on the bench or not first choice centre forward . If he came back to us I would think he is still first choice over Richy and Dom .
As long as Frank devises a system to suit him. He’s not going to be racing about, closing people down.
Needs 48 to beat Shearers record. Going to be in the third season to do that I think.
I think he only has a year left after this season . Probably get him for not much more than the 30m we have wasted on Tel.
Would Daniel do it??

I have no doubt that Kane would have swapped the Bundesliga title to be in that team at Bilbao.
Sod’s Law that he leaves and we win a trophy with a team nowhere near as good as most of the ones he was in,

I think he probably would’ve cried if he was in Bilbao (even though if we still had him through 23/24 we’d have got CL, since without him we only finished 2pts behind Villa). Imo the majority of the Poch era guys feel similarly to the way Walker does when he said he’d give up 2 of his Prem titles for that Bilbao medal.

This isn't an attack on Harry, but footballers don't have the same loyalties as fans so I wouldn't bet my house on it. Unlikely but not impossible.
Yeah, it’s not the same for them as fans but Harry does have a legacy here and he would’t want it tarnished. He wouldn’t want the grief Campbell still gets. I would 100% not put it past that dirty fucker Arteta to try and get him there though.

He's much better than Lewadowski and prime Kane was twice as good as him. But though I've a fondess for Harry, I'm properly over him. He was brilliant but he's a hard man to love like there's an odd reserve about him. I know how Dele feels about us, even Bale became strangely sentimental about Spurs. Son Heung-min well... let's not even go there he is everything we feel made flesh. Harry...not really sure. He will play in the EPL again but not sure the man can seperate Spurs and Levy so not sure who it will be for. Id bet not us if pushed.

Always said he's a better number 9. Lewandowski has an even better scoring ratio, but he offers absolutely nothing outside the box. Same as Haaland. Kane not only drops deep and pings a football around like a world-class midfielder, but he also clears a large portion of set pieces out of his own box.

Him and peak Benzema are the most complete number 9's around.

I don't doubt that Kane cares for Spurs. You don't spend as many years at a club as he did and not develop sympathies.

But I do think that he's been driven by personal success just as much if not more. Especially since he became England captain. The idea of becoming "arguably the greatest (English) player to never win anything" probably wore him down leading up to him wanting to move.

Son is an apples and oranges scenario since he had already won something with Korea. So even if he had gone dry at club level he had that.

I'd like to round up all the posters who said "he's holding us back". Yes I'm that petty.
I'm still annoyed about that bullshit too. It boggles the mind that anyone actually thought Kane was making the team weaker, even after that final season where he carried the club to 7th by breaking the record for most different matches scored in, during a season where Son was not near his best. Sadly, we got to see how wrong the naysayers were -- and it was only to the detriment of the club. If you average out the results with and without Kane at this point (now that there's a fair sample size), it's chasmic.
